Comments:
Courtesy of Tapeboy and the JEMS team, here is the final installment in JEMS' series of outstanding master recordings from The Who's fall 1979 American tour. This one represents the second of two non-consecutive dates The Who performed near Washington, D.C.; a substitute for the canceled Providence show. As usual, J pulled another fine recording what I assume was a less-than-acoustically-perfect arena ... for a late 1970s recording, this again features outstanding dynamics, and virtually no close-mic crowd noise.

The performance itself is a fairly typical setlist, about five minutes shorter than the first Landover show. The one setlist standout is the inclusion of an incendiary version of "Magic Bus" as the final encore - the only time they played it in this slot on the tour. Unfortunately, the medley at the end is considerably shortened, and "How Can You Do It Alone" is dropped as a result.
