Notes:
There were worries that Ozzy wouldn't turn up having cancelled the Mannheim show two days beforehand and the Graspop headlining show from last year but he did finally arrive and put on a great show. His voice was stonger than the recent Download Black Sabbath show and way better than his last Graspop show which was so bad it was laughable. He enjoyed playing with his new toy - a foam water cannon and the set list was a good mix of Ozzy and sabbath classics. It was a blustery day and there is quite a bit of wind noise and the usual expected chatter from a festival but it is certainly worth a listen.

I got this a long time ago from a guy who claimed he had a first generation copy. Rewatching it I think he bent the truth a bit and probably had a 2nd. Although with it being an in house feed the picture may have not been great to begin with. Anyways I believe it to be the best version of this show out there. I would welcome any kind of upgrade myself if it ever becomes available. But until then this a very enjoyable version

Notes by the taper:
Ok, so the set was cut for some strange reason. I wanted to hear Killer of giants but that one was gone, as was Into the void. At least the latter must have been a spur of the moment decision since Geezer seemed intent on playing one more song, but hastily left the stage when Ozzy announced I don´t wanna change the world, and Blasko didn´t seem prepared either so in the video you see him arriving on stage when the song is already under way. Strange this, since Ozzy was in a great mood, the weather was nice (though a bit cold) and the audience seemed pretty appreciative.

Nonetheless I did enjoy myself. It was a good gig, too short by anyone´s standards but the addition of Slash was a welcome bonus since I enjoyed his playing. Best songs of the evening were Fairies, Change and Mama since I had dreamed of seeing Ozzy with Zakk since I never had the chance all those years ago.

I had a golden circle-ticket so I was quite close to the stage. Lots of clapping and cheering and I did not have high hopes about the recording. As it turns out it´s not too shabby. A little tinny perhaps, but overall very listenable. Listen to the youtubeclip and decide for yourself.

The title "Ozzymosis Sessions" is slightly misleading. Although all of these recordings are related to the "Ozzmosis" album, they are not actually from the sessions for "Ozzmosis". The tracks on this disc come from two projects that preceded the "Ozzmosis" sessions. .. 

A. "Ozzyland Sessions" (1993/94) (1-9) 

...nine tracks are from sessions Ozzy did with songwriter/producer Mark Hudson (fame Aerosmith & Ringo Starr) for an as-of-yet unreleased album called "OZZYLAND". These sessions most likely took place some time in 1993 or 1994. It is not known where they were recorded.

...three tracks come from sessions done with engineer/producer Michael Wagner in London in 1992. Wagner was hired by Ozzy's record label to produce the intended follow up to "No More Tears". They told him they wanted an album exactly like "No More Tears". Eventually the record company changed their minds and wanted the album to sound more in line with the grunge movement so Wagner was fired and the sessions with him were abandoned. The record execs hired Soundgarden producer Michael Beinhorn who produced Ozzmosis.

My personal rating: 

The reocrding has excellent sound for excellent songs. The first 9 songs are different than other recordings by Ozzy, a little more commercial. The Band is great. Especially the bass player is incredible (I count for Bob Daisley?). Some of the songs could have charted as single e. g. "Dream For Tomorrow", a ballad in the manner of "Dreamer". Naturally some of the tracks are heavy rock. 
"Denial" and "Ghost behind My Eyes are very different to the "Ozzmosis" versions. "Ghost" with very nice acoustic guitar and a very different, surprising ending. 
If they had released the album, it sure would have charted and become a commercial success. More than "Ozzmosis" IMHO. 

The three songs from the "Wagner sessions" are also very different. "Perry Mason" with strings intro. "Old L.A. Tonight" with very different piano. "See You on The Other Side" is similar to the version of the "Prince Of Darkness Box" (same session), but much longer with more Saxophone and Gospel Choir - very different to the Ozzmosis version. I hope the missing songs of that session will see the light of day, especially the unreleased "Slow Burn".
