coments:
Wellcome to second DETOUR concert in Spain. This is the second of three. This show was very nice too, but Elvis has some problems with his voice in a different points of the show. But, nothing important. As usual he changed some of the songs from the Zaragoza show.He play also Alison a capella walking arround the venue. He explain that he was at the McCartney show three days before in Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid. I know that Elvis arrived at the venue at 17 h more or less because I see the van outside of the venue with the warning lights. This venue is a old Cinema in the Atocha Street and theres no backstage door. His outfits arrived from the laundry by taxi at 17.20 . After wait for some time ouside I decided go back to the hotel because it was very hot day.I'll be back at the venue at 19.45 and I talk a little with the guy who sold the merchandising about the tour and after that I go in to talk with the mixing desk tech.Who explain me that they liked very much the show who do in Zaragoza the last night.I ask him for the set list and he promis to give one. The venue is and old cienema converted in a music theatre but twowers of ligts that he used in Zaragoza this time are not on the show. But the ilumination was nice too. Elvis say that the piano he use on these tour it's from she's wife and she give them for that tour with the condition that he go back home safe. As usual on this tour they explain some of the songs before to sing.

Notes by the uploader/trader:
This is another I received in a trade years ago, but it only had tracks 1 - 7, no Candy Man. Years later, through the generosity of KS (the girl who knows all there is to know about Donovan) I received the full recording, including Candy Man.

There is a noticeable drop in one channel on track 0, for about 30 seconds
There is slight wow and flutter, here and there.
HOWEVER, considering this was recorded just eight months after his first record release, the fact there is little live from that time, and the set list, this is one helluva performance.

i received this cd-audio from a friend sometime ago without any info. then i found it's from 10 may 1985 Teatro Tenda Mancini in Roma. I've simply ripped and flac'ed my cd, without any change! you can notice that there are those little silent pauses at the end of the tracks but i left them as they are on my cd. i also found that the known setlist from this gig ends with track 12 (luna) but my cd has also a 13th track (another "eroe nel vento") that i think is simply an encore from the same gig, because the sound quality is really the very same!!! this is a more than excellent SBD recording, and i think it's very very low gen, because the sound is very clean and detailed and with very little tape hiss.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS!!!

Another memorable night in my life as a concert-goer. Maiden tend to do that to you. ;-)
Made the mistake of relying on a buddy of mine to get tickets for the Montreal show, which he failed to do, so I called a friend in T.O. who managed to get pretty good seats there. I ended up doing a little road trip which is always fun. Haven't been to the ACC in awhile and I gotta say I was not impressed with the sound, at least in the beginning. Every other time I've seen Maiden the sound's been much clearer and crisp. It got better after the first few songs though and it was quite listenable, as you can hear from the recording. The energy from the band was great as always. Crowd was very good too. You can hear the usual "singers", as expected at every Maiden or Alice In Chains show, singing along to choruses and favourite melodic sections. All part of the fun atmosphere. Hope you enjoy listening to this recording as much as we enjoyed seeing the live show.

NOTES:
Recorded from section 306 of the ADT Club. Certainly not the optimum location for recording in this not so great acoustically hockey arena hence the boomy sound. At least I had no rowdies or cell phone talkers nearby so there is little audience chatter on this. Entire show  captured, intro through outro including opening act, (Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris' daughter) Lauren Harris. Sold out concert at 21,000. This was the last gig on Iron Maiden's mammoth "Somewhere Back In Time" world tour and their first visit to Florida in almost thirteen years.

This is the famous James Brown concert that was broadcast live on WGBH TV in Boston less than 24 hours after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As violence was breaking out across America, Boston mayor Kevin White was considering canceling all public events, including the James Brown concert. Civil leaders advised White that cancelling the concert might trigger a riot. The mayor relented and then persuaded PBS station WGBH to broadcast the event in an effort to keep black people at home instead of on the street. James Brown soothed the grieving audience by dedicating the show to the memory of Dr. King and delivered an electrifying performance. Brown introduced the mayor who urged the audience to keep cool. At one point, the fans go wild and rush the stage. The police move in to restore order but Brown assures them that he can handle it. James then pleads with the crowd to return to their seats and says this is not how black people should act. A very powerful and emotional performance!

This particular version is one that I personally "restored". I have taken the various parts of this show that were available and restored them to the original running order of the original concert. (Most versions feature the original reels in a random order with some segments even repeated.) I used two different versions of this show and used the best of both elements. One version had an additional 35 seconds of footage at the end that the other didn't, so I was sure to include that. I have chosen to omit the bit with the comedian. Sorry to those who were really looking forward to that segment.

Notes:
Digitally Remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed Bertha, by jashley@deadacated.com. Completed December 8, 2005.

(*)Spectral analysis reveals around 10khz of Bandwidth left to the original source. It is not mentioned what the Master source is. Though, 2 analog generations is consistant with what is seen in the spectral analysis and other tests.

Spectral and Frequency analysis also reveals a highly compressed source, proabably around 50:1 Limiting. Though this achieves greater volume, it also adds distortion and harshness to the signal in the mid frequencies. The effects of the limiting were reversed to the extent possible, leaving a cleaner, less harsh recording.

The Bertha Remasters are done for no other reason than to bring greater enjoyment to my own listening experience. I share them freely and with no expectations. If others get enjoyment from them, all the better.
