I got this concert directly from the taper about 18 years ago. I was not there but was assured by the taper that this tape contains the whole performance. Since I wasn't at the show, I don't have any amusing or amazing stories to tell, so I'll give you a brief rundown of the recording, good points and bad.

First, the good points:
1) As mentioned above, this recording is complete.
2) There is virtually NO talking, shrieking, whistling or any other audience bullshit on this recording. The taper was surrounded by very polite, quiet, respectful audience members who were there for the music and not to hear themselves talk.
3) There is no distortion present. There are no speed problems or any other serious faults to prevent you from enjoying this show.
4) This is a very clear recording. The vocals & instruments come through very clearly and distinctly. I think that the taper was fairly close to the stage when making this recording.

Second, the bad (not very bad at all) points:
1) There is a little bit of hiss. Not bad, but you'll hear it from time to time.
2) This is probably the worst point about the recording: the right channel's strength is variable. The right channel is weak for 90% of And You And I and then comes back strongly. This occurs on other songs as well. I have no idea what was going on but I suspect that there was a short or a loose connection somewhere in the mic circuitry. The right channel never vanishes totally but it is weak in several songs. This is basically why I downgraded it to 8.5. When both channels are pumping, it's a 9 to 9.5 solidly. Fixing this problem is beyond my  capabilities. Perhaps some audio wizard out in Dime land can fix this for us all. If anyone is interested in doing so, you have my complete and utter permission to knock yourself(ves) out. I could've used a splitter to record the left channel only but didn't want to create a mono recording, so I left the problem alone. If you can help, please do!!! (How I wish that the taper would've used something like a Sony or Aiwa with an external stereo tie mic instead of a Radio Shack setup but what can you do ?????).

So there you have it. This is the raw recording that I've had lo these many years. I changed NOTHING about this recording except to track it and to remove overly-long stretches of applause and screaming between songs. No music is missing. This show fits on 2 80 min. CDs. CD 1 = Tracks 1 - 14. CD 2 = Tracks 15 - 29. The song titles become more understandable if you have a copy of the legit ABWH tape lying  around so you can follow along with that setlist. That's about all that I can think of to say, so let's wrap this up.

This show was still early in the tour (the fourth show), and finds the band experimenting with setlist and sound effects. This may be the only show with the Firebird Suite, which drops right into the opening jam of Close To the Edge.

They were also experimenting with quadrophonic sound, with stacks of speakers on the lawn handling those effects like at old-style "azimuth coordinator" Floyd shows.

We moved to the lawn for the second set to better capture the quad effects, and found a nice spot near one of the speaker stacks. During Themes especially you can hear the sound moving in and out of the lawn speakers.

Notes by the taper:
This was my 13th solo Jon Anderson show. While he forgot the words to a couple of songs and his voice was raspy compared to the show I saw the previous week in Templeton, he still put on a superior performance. It was particularly nice to hear "Turn Of The Century" again and the sweet dedication to his daughter, Deborah, before "WS." The crowd was the most energized one I've seen at a Jon show in quite some time, but they also showed respect by being completely silent during certain songs. However, there was something wrong with the sound at the venue. A weird noise began with his piano medley and his voice and guitar have an odd crackle sound from that point on.

Unfortunately, this recording suffers from a whistler immediately to my left. He's not as deafening on the recording as he was at the show and he at least kept the majority of his pain-inducing shrills to between songs (the exceptions are in "YIND," in the piano medley and during "WS"). He also had the loudest clap and woop of anyone else around me. I also had a lot of people behind me who talked a few times. There were two women who only had the vaguest notion of the artist they were seeing as I overheard them loudly exclaim a sense of recognition to just a couple of songs. And at the other end of the Yes fan spectrum, there was a man who sang along during parts of the encore songs.

I stood along a horizontal footpath, so there is constant phasing and occasional noise from people walking by. It's rather minor up until the encore, but there are two moments that are louder than most: in "RSOG" when a man with dangly keys aggressively walked by (it almost sounds like my mics rubbing); during Jon's intro to "Soon" (this one sounds like a robotic belch). There is also a loud pop in "The Light Of Love" in the left channel that I was not able to remove. And being a supper club, there is the inevitable clinking of plates, glasses and silverware heard throughout. There's also a fan that is constantly heard in the background, as well as the sound of an exit door behind me as it slammed shut whenever a person left the venue.

I amplified this, but did nothing else to the recording. So be sure to turn this up, but please note that the applause and whistles between songs are considerably louder than the music. And if burning to cd, the suggested split is between "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" and the piano medley.

Five tracks from the new album and as long promised some Olias tracks. Colorful visuals... I'll try to throw up a clip.

Last night's show from ARW - wow, that was a lot of fun for the fans and for the band. Recording came out very nice though the reserved seating didn't last through the encore so last track I had to shift position a bit and crowd+band volume went up.

We also got a bonus - one's of Rick's keyboards was acting up before Changes, so John and Rick filled time by telling jokes. And Trevor accused Rick of soiling himself. Yeah, high brow comedy and good to see these guys have a fallback career option in case this music thing falls through.

Comments: What a great time this is for Yes fans! We had the Anderson Ponty shows in the spring, a great Yes tour in the summer, and now Anderson Rabin Wakeman. Like it or not, the classic lineup will never be again. I'm okay with that. I've enjoyed the recent Yes tours, especially the shows this past summer. And now I have these shows to enjoy as well. I am a bit disappointed with the setlist. I would have loved if they hit the Rabin era a bit more. This setlist is pretty standard stuff. I guess it is a good starting place for the ARW unit, and hopefully future tours will bring more variety. They have definitely gotten much tighter than the opening shows from Florida. Despite a couple minor flubs, there is a freshness that seems to come through with the performance.

Once again I made two recordings. I was going to two different external microphone recordings like I did the Yes show from Albany earlier this year. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I'm still getting used to the CA11 microphones. Even with recording level set to 8, I still had to boost the volume drastically despite the fact that I was sitting about 10 feet away from a giant speaker. The show came out nice, and while I would have loved to hear how my older SP-SPSB-8's (AT831's) would have sounded, I'm pretty sure they would not have handled the bass response as well as the CA11's did. There is very little annoying crowd noise, surprising for a Yes show in Boston. I'm sure there were the usual idiots, but luckily they weren't sitting near me this time. I think the recording came out very nice.
