Great show from early on in the Hysteria tour. Hometown show for them at their peak.

This comes courtesy of my long time friend and taping/trading buddy Damien. Early on when I started this master taper series I was trying to track him down and with the help of fellow taper and friend Mark B. I was able to finally get back in touch with him so an extra special shout out to Mark for that. Damien has so many great shows and it will be a real treat to share those here with everyone to enjoy. His taping started in 1984 and ran heavy until the late 90's early 2000's so as you can imagine there's an awful lot. Most of his shows are some of the best quality boots to come out of Europe during that time. Thanks to him and his approval to post his shows everyone will hear some great shows. Let's Rock!!

This bootleg is from Def Leppard's homecoming concert at the newly-opened Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield on 6 June 1993. I believe the original source for the bootleg was a Japanese TV broadcast, which explains the truncation of the frequency response around 15kHz. I went to a lot of effort to track down an original pressed CD copy of this, as I was worried that the other copies I had looked as if they had been through MP3 encoding; on checking the original, I believe this is an artifact of the original broadcast rather than anything that has happened since!

Has two songs off the new album which sound good.

Recording Notes:

Flawless recording pull off the wireless monitors. Used a total of 5 feeds for the matrix, although recorded more. Sirius ended up broadcasting the full show on their new Def Leppard radio station, but I wasn't a fan of that mix. Sounded muffled and overly compressed to my ears, but others may enjoy it. In any case, here's something different. Biggest drawback I could say on this recording is the crowd noise is very low, so it sounds pretty dry between songs. They also put a gate on the mics, so you'll hear it working as the crowd noise is at the gate threshold, making the crowd noise sound a little unnatural. That aside, it's a pretty good mix in my opinion.
