Notes:
A part of North-American leg of David Gilmour's 1984 'About Face' world tour. Complete recording from alternate source (Recorder 2). Recorder 1 („The British Are Coming”) is surely better. Here sound is distant and a bit muffled. Audience is enthusiastic and very loud as well. Although the source tapes were low generation, final effect isn’t spectacular - but acceptable of course. Well, always this is second source, complete and about four minutes longer than Recorder 1. Discs' division compatible with the course of the show. Very carefully indexed.

The very beginning of t11 is cut because I was changing tapes on the recorder. Jim White played drums with Mark Moore who opened the evening, and that will be shortened and seeded soon. Smoke played supporting Cat Power, and is still on cassette. Stay tuned for other hobby files including: Broadcast, Do Make Say Think, Low, and Uz Jmez Doma --- all on MD ---- Freakwater, Papa M --- from SBD. It'll be a while before those are all prepared, but I want to return the many favors. Stay busy, everybody, and thanks for the share. Special Thanks to the soundman, who I never did get a copy to ... hopefully he's on STG. Encoded to FLAC by CitizenGatsby a.k.a. PeppermintSwirlGirl, 7/23/05.

Notes by the taper:
Recorded at 20 feet from left stack.

Odd bit of chatter/shouting/clapping as you'd expect from a headlining outdoor festival set, but overall I'm pretty pleased with this.

I also recorded this with CA14 cards>iRiver as a back up and my mate Vault63 recorded it with MCSM-4 mics>iRiver, so we'll stick those up sometime as well.

Not everyone's idea of a perfect outdoor festival headline act based on the size of the crowd and the reaction of my wife, but I really enjoyed their set.

Another great Summer Sundae, cracking weather, atmosphere and beer. I also taped a shed load of other bands:
Y Niwi, Kyte, Datarock, Patrick Wolf, Adam Ant, Little Night Terrors, Micachu and the Shapes, Lucy Rose, Savages, Buenos Aires, Reverend and the Makers, Her Name Is Calla, Maybeshewill, Hey Sholay, Japandroids, Twilight Sad, Dark Dark Horse and King Charles and my mate Vault63 taped quite a few others and these should hopefully follow in the next few weeks.

From the NME Website

Blur played the final night of their intimate UK tour last night (August 7) at Plymouth Pavilions and treated fans to a hit-packed set.

The show, which will act as the final warm-up gig for the band's huge outdoor show at London's Hyde Park on Sunday (August 12), saw the band bang out a mammoth 26-song set.

Opening with 'Girls & Boys', the band aired 1999 album track 'Caramel' and 1993 B-side 'Young And Lovely' as they have done throughout their recent dates and both new singles 'The Puritan' and 'Under The Westway'.

The set also included hit singles 'Song 2', 'Coffee & TV', 'Beetlebum', 'No Distance Left To Run' and the closing 'The Universal' as well as live favourites 'Tracy Jacks' and 'Sunday Sunday'.

The band's setlist for their Hyde Park show is likely to be very similar, but bassist Alex James has previously told NME that a few of the rarer cuts may not make the set. He said of this: "I don't think you can really play two B-sides at Hyde Park."

You can read a full preview of Blur's Hyde Park shows and a full interview with Alex James in the new issue of NME, which is on newsstands now or available digitally.

Michael Lutz bass, vocals
Benny Rappa - drums, background vocals

01. Journey To The Center Of Your Mind
02. Wang Dang, Sweet Poontang (with a "Red House" interlude in the middle)
03. Just What The Doctor Ordered
04. Free For All
05. Hey Baby
06. Kiss My Ass
07. Lovejacker
08. Dog Eat Dog
09. Fred Bear
10. Cat Scratch Fever
11. Strangle Hold
12. Great White Buffalo

length: 81 minutes

It's great getting a chance to see Ted play so many of the old classics - and especially with the original vocalist Derek St. Holmes singing them. This looks and sounds like it could be an in-house feed to the big screen shot because there is very little crowd noise heard between songs.

"Completely subjected to full matrix material and well-balanced audience 24bit equivalent source being monitored on the stage, uncompressed stereo IEM and noiseless (in-ear monitor) source, in the clear from the Front Row , equalizing excess is suppressed as much as possible, to directly swell of the groove at the Nippon Budokan, while leaving everywhere are the people live cheers perfectly reproduced! our audience a sound three-dimensional thick depth and expressive, from PA Loud sound is raw mix was subjected to carefully so as not to compromise the sense of direct! The complete recording of IEM source than to say that nearly complete bonus track is too extravagant, sound check, which began 45 minutes when the day of 15. Can be seen flickering or "A Simple Game of Genius" staple has played only in the sound check at around the World Tour, this time, any road movie "Lord Don't Slow Me Down", unreleased songs from the era of Oasis people in the know as, exhaustive and "God Help Us All" a demonstration or "It Makes Me Wanna Cry". Ultra-sound-check material that really 10 songs, about 60 minutes, this is valuable."
