Notes:
I received this CD a couple of years ago in a trade with the above lineage and setlist. It was dated as 6/23/68 but since it has been verified that the band performed at San Francisco's Carousel Ballroom on that date in 1968, another Fleetwood Mac collector advised me that 1969 should be the correct date.
Please note that it is a live-in-the-studio performance by the band -- later broadcast on Scottish radio.  Much like the BBC live performances of the period, there is no audience. I couldn't find any reference indicating that any part of this has ever been commercially-released.
I did the encoding to FLAC on May 2, 2005 -- I didn't do any editing other than having FLAC Frontend check for SBE's, and tagging the files (using TagScanner).

There are minor channel fluctuations in a few spots but this mostly sounds spectacular with a very 60's sounding mix (vocals in one channel and guitars in the other). To be able to hear Paul Butterfield with Fleetwood Mac is a highlight but Peter Green sounds really great too!

I have heard that this was posted back in the STG era, but this version has been remastered with the sets separated better between discs and some minor "nip and tuck" type edits. No EQ or noise reduction was used in the remastering process.

From Peter Green's stage comments, this is from one week into Fleetwood Mac's first U.S. tour and he sounds like he's having a really good time on the last night of a 3 show run with Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. This is presumed to be the last night because Peter Green makes a comment about how they'll be back in 2 weeks (not the following night). I think that they returned to the Carousel on the 22nd or 23rd of June.

Comments: Very nice audience/ALD matrix from Fleetwood Mac's reunion tour in 2003. The primary source used in this matrix is the ALD, and this features unusually good fidelity for an assistive listening recording -- the low-end is well-represented and clean, unlike most sources of this type. The audience source appears to have been used sparingly to fill in a little atmosphere in the recording.

I'm not enough of a Fleetwood Mac fan to comment on the performance, though I saw this tour a couple of times and enjoyed it. There are several songs from the album they were promoting at the time which didn't really grab me, but the older material sounded great with this lineup. Lindsey Buckingham was clearly the star of the show, literally throwing himself into every vocal and guitar solo, though everyone was in very good form considering the years that have passed.

This was mastered by John Tsalikes and "Mike" (a.k.a. "gottahaveit") and seeded on DIME in early 2005, about a year and a half after John's untimely death. This was downloaded heavily and dropped from the tracker quickly (3 months), so it's likely that many DIME members who would be interested didn't see this the first time around.

Notes:
For this show I tried out a pair of CSC Mics I had purchased but am on the fence when it comes to using them again because the sound came out sort of thin compared to what I actually heard during the show. The IEM feed is well balanced favoring Stevie's vocals and the backup guitar player and singers but when mixed with the AUD it really helps fill out the sound. There are a small minor hiccups during the show where there were a couple pops in the iem feed and I tried to edit them out as much as possible but they are still there.

Another great Fleetwood Mac performance. Ive seen FM a couple times in various incarnations and I have to admit, this was the best show of them all. The whole band was in top form and in good voice. I'm always mesmerized by Lindsey's unique guitar playing style. I still can't figure out his finger technique, a lot of fun to watch. The highlight of the evening has to be the Buckingham penned piece “I'm So Afraid”. A blistering example of how great a guitarist he truly is, and the longest song of the set.

Track 00 used only the cardiod source because the omni source was rendered useless while reaching over at the time while I was having conversation with a lady neighbor. Mic cable was either being stretched or pressure applied against it. Fortunately the whole show afterwards went without a hitch. It was an amazing show. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I.

Notes:
The first show of the tour...and in three years...and it was awesome. The whole band had high energy throughout and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The crowd around me was for the most part pretty well behaved other than one woman behind me who wouldn't shut up. Fortunately she kept leaving and spent better than half the show absent. In my opinion this is a decent sounding recording... unfortunately there is one glitch. A passerby (beer run) ran into me and unplugged my mic cable during I'm So Afraid at the 2'16 mark and it stopped recording. I caught it quickly though and only a few seconds are missing.
