VK'S Notes
This is by far the best Van Halen show of all time, the recording is not the greatest in the world but still a solid B and very listenable. I am almost driven to tears when I listen to this because this is one of the very last shows that Diamond Dave performed with Van Halen and this is the best Van Halen show of all time, if not the greatest show ever. They went out in a blaze of glory, without a doubt! Also this is one of the very last apperences of Eddie's infamous 'Brown Sound'. If you are a Van Halen fan, even a casual Van Halen fan, you must download this show!

Comments: Very nice audience/ALD matrix from Fleetwood Mac's reunion tour in 2003. The primary source used in this matrix is the ALD, and this features unusually good fidelity for an assistive listening recording -- the low-end is well-represented and clean, unlike most sources of this type. The audience source appears to have been used sparingly to fill in a little atmosphere in the recording.

I'm not enough of a Fleetwood Mac fan to comment on the performance, though I saw this tour a couple of times and enjoyed it. There are several songs from the album they were promoting at the time which didn't really grab me, but the older material sounded great with this lineup. Lindsey Buckingham was clearly the star of the show, literally throwing himself into every vocal and guitar solo, though everyone was in very good form considering the years that have passed.

This was mastered by John Tsalikes and "Mike" (a.k.a. "gottahaveit") and seeded on DIME in early 2005, about a year and a half after John's untimely death. This was downloaded heavily and dropped from the tracker quickly (3 months). I've been keeping the flame alive by reposting this every three or four years.

5. Comments from the production team
This is the rough mix. We are pretty sure that we could have made it sound better. But we believe this one is good enough to upload it here. Please enjoy the show. We recorded 10 IEM sources of the entire show and matrixed 7 to 9 sources here and there.

Adam Lambert is a great singer but kept on bitching about his IEM-monitor sounds all through the show. We tried to eliminate all of the conversations he held with crews but looks like we missed some…. Sorry we will try harder the next time.

Queen + Adam Lambert will release their first live album this fall, featuring performances from their hundreds of shows around the world. Please buy the official live album and support the band & the crews.

One of the first releases (I think) of the amjt news group. Great Rockline interview with Ian, Martin and Dave Pegg and some bonus tracks of live Catfish Rising tracks from 1991. The in-studio live performances are very good and a real treat here as Rockline usually just plays the tracks on the radio and rarely to the artists actually perform live. I know the Band (these 3) where doing a bunch of radio shows and in-studio performances to promote CFR during the month of August 1991 leading up to the release of the album and there is another torrent on DIME that someone uploaded that has all of these other radio show performances and interviews they did during that promotion. Just do a search, you will find it here. This is one of my favorite Tull interviews and performances.

Geetarz Comments:
This was the first show of the 1979 tour, and the first gig with new band member Albert Lee. This is a soundboard recording, not to be confused with the high generation audience recording in circulation. EC gets a bit lost in the first verse of Crossroads, but finishes off with some great solos. The band is plagued by some sort of PA/Equipment problems during "Key to the Highway". The show features a nice hot performance of "Carnival", with some nice swirly Hammond B3.

A gorgeous soundboard recording from the Hold Out Tour - the last tour on which David Lindley was a regular member of Jackson's band.  The show features some unique arrangements of several of the songs by Jackson's outstanding band as well as a few songs seldom played before or after this tour.  The recording has eliminated most of the material between songs and unfortunately edited out the last line of The Load Out, but this is, without doubt, the highest quality ROIO of Jackson Browne with band during the David Lindley era.

Here's another Heart rarity, at least in lossless form. Another liberated disc. Cost me some cash so I hope this means something to someone out there. This is obviously not the complete show. Either KISW or KZOK broadcast the show on the radio that summer, can't remember which one. Fabulous show of Heart in their prime and as always kicked up a notch at the semi hometown gig.
