Great show by Robert and The Sensational Space Shifters really enjoyed it! I was about 5 rows from the front with the speaker basicaly sitting on top of me so not the best recording ever but I am sure someone far more capable than me can give this recording a tweak and make it sound a bunch better.

Incomplete show, complete broadcast, with interviews intercut between the live segments. Commonly misdated and mislocated as October 11, 2001, in Niagara Falls, NY. From late September to mid October, the band cancelled 10 previously scheduled shows due to the September 11th terrorist attacks, which would prove the October 11th date as invalid, as the band was originally scheduled to open for Aerosmith in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on this date. Daxx Nielsen temporarily fills in for Bun E. Carlos, as he was recovering from back surgery at the time.

Started off as a good day when the UPS guy delivered my new microphones just in time to get everything ready to go to the show. Was a little worried as I did not have a lot of time to test out the mics before I had to leave for the show. The show was not sold out and I had 4 empty seats to my left so I eventually moved to those seats and was able to comfortably monitor the levels and get them adjusted. I think the recording came out really good. I also got some Hyper Card elements too. I will try them sometime soon but for now I am happy with the mics.
The show itself was great. Steve Howe was the most impressive of the group, he never fails to impress me. I thought Jon Davison did an admirable job as well. When I first heard about this tour I thought .... "Why Going For The One?" but I have to say I have a much deeper apreciation for that album now. I always liked Wonderous Stories, but had not paid real close attention to the rest of the album. My mistake... it is realy much better than I remembered it to be. There was an intermission between Close to the Edge and Going for the One. I cut out that intermission and spliced the very begining of the Going For The One set to the end of Siberian Khatru. You can hear the cut for that split second as they don't match perfectly but it is audience noise so you have all the music intact.

It was a very warm day of this show, and the "Carrier Dome" (Carrier Air-Conditioners) is not air conditioned...so it was a bit warm inside. Luckly I was able to get tickets on the floor just (25') to the stage left of the soundboard...so we had good sound, and it wasn't nearly as warm as in the upper deck I'm sure. I believe I am recorder 2 of this show.

Jeff and Jan as opening act to Fleetwood Mac, so the show's a little shorter than some others from the tour. This one has really has nice sound and the lack of audience noise makes me wonder if this could have been recorded from the side of the stage. Sample included - enjoy.

Awesome show, following on from Journey with whom they were double-billed. [Journey show will follow in a couple of days as time permits]. They came out firing on all cylinders and didn't come up for air for 20 minutes, and then it got better from there! There are one or two bits of chatter and some errant whistling in a couple of places, but these are minimal. Recording is untouched other than downsampling and splitting into tracks. It is what it is (and IMHO is not too shabby - samples in comments to check for yourselves), if you can make it better, feel free.

Plant's first solo tour was the most enjoyable for me somehow. This is a really nice audience recording for the time, most likely done with a Sony D-6 or the like. From what I hear it's better than Milwaukee 8/31/83 and Tokyo 2/26/84, those being two of the better audience recordings from the tour. The fellow who traded me this show back in the day suggests the taper may have cut "Moonlight In Somosa" from the recording, but Plant may have simply not played it this night. Anyone out there know? Anyway, enjoy!

Notes:
Won tickets to this event and flew out to NYC for this. Great mini-show. The band sounds great and most of the new tracks sound amazing live. "Angel" and "Should Be Higher" are both massive songs that will be good in arenas. The other few I did not care for. But you can decide what you think. I record every concert/show I go to, so even though this was broadcasted on line in a stream, I still taped it. "Barrel of a Gun" was NASTY! Great stuff. They sound well rehearsed and ready to destroy their upcoming tour. Enjoy.

Notes:
A comment from rtalwani on my Blondie May 4 1978 torrent asked if I had taped them in 1979 at the Palladium, with Fripp. I hadn't, but i did have a soundboard of that show. I didn't originally like the quality and gave it a "good" rating, sort of 3 out of 10. But I just gave it a listen and was suprised to find that it's really very good.
It's an odd mix, maybe a monitor recording for the rhythm section; certainly the bass and drums are quite present. But so is everything else, and it really is ok and doesn't even seem very far off the master. I took a quick look and it doesn't seem to be a common recording so here it goes. Maybe someone has a better copy, perhaps in stereo? This one seems to be mono.
I don't know the exact date, but this is the show that rtalwani was asking about because Fripp is on Sister Midnight and Heroes. My pitiful attempt at a songlist follows, feel free to correct:

Notes by the taper
A fine show indeed at the soon to be gone Entertainment Centre. The last time I saw Neil was at the same venue on the "Greendale" tour (shudder). This was much better but could have been so much more. Looking at the setlists, all the down under shows are the same sets, with the odd variation for the encore. God knows where these 2 encores came from but they beg the question.."where the hell was "Like a Hurricane",or "Cortez"or anything really that would have better than what we got. Ah well, whats a poor boy to do. Thought it would have been a bit louder but the volume didn't get ramped up until "Hey Hey"
Pretty quiet audience around me during the music so no idiot banter which is always a treat

Comments:
Pretty good audience recording from 17th row left-hand side from Eric Clapton's brief "Crossroads" North American tour in 1988. This is best-known for featuring Mark Knopfler on rhythm guitar (as well as, of course, vocals on one song during the encore). Setlist-wise, nothing terribly adventurous except that I believe this show contained the last (or at least, one of the last) performances of the "Badge"/"Let It Rain" medley which he'd done every night through the '85-'87 tours.
The recording is fairly well-balanced -- I remember it being REALLY loud -- although unfortunately the vocals are low in the mix (probably a function of being really far to the left -- the vocals must have been concentrated toward the center sections). There are some talkers around us. There are a couple of very small cuts due to tape flips and 30 seconds of "Lay Down Sally" are a little muffled (an usher came in wanting to see our ticket stubs, so my friend ducked the mike down for a moment). Otherwise, it's a good recording that has more "talkers" than I'd like but who are not overly distracting. I'd give it a 7-8 (on a 10-scale) for the era.

Special Notes: The location was decent with a wall behind us so no crowd behind us. i was able to stand for the entire show facing the stage. The bad part was we were the 3rd and 4th seats from the aisle and seats 5-8 were beer runners and our side was the only way out. You will hear them about 3 times during the show plus during Tea & Theatre they knew it was the end so in the middle of it the group gets up and chats on the way past me while exiting out. The kicker is about 43-44 minutes into the show one of the group stumbles right into my rig which was on my person. This caused a one channel drop out that will last for about 42 1/2 minutes until they bumped into me again actually straightening out the issue. To fix the 42 1/2 minutes I copy / pasted over the bad channel with the good channel. It's still very good though. This affected I've Had Enough to the end of Doctor Jimmy. Do I like this new MSG configuration after their so called upgrades ? I would have to say not. I truly prefer the old school Garden. It was a great evening regardless. The band was feeling it and so was the audience. Roger did take a fall during I think it was Baba O'Riley while dancing around the stage but bounced right back up without missing a beat.
