Video Master of a Wild Cramps concert in 1981
This is the VHS master of a completely uncirculated video from the Cramps' concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam 1981. It was filmed with their consent for the Dutch pirate tv station 'PKP' which broadcasted parts of the concert. The Cramps gave a great show that night, culminating in Lux Interior climbing on the PA boxes during 'Surfing Bird', eating the microphone, and then dropping his pants on stage. After the show they came to my house to watch the tape and had a laugh. The interview we did after the show had unfortunately no sound, but they dubbed it at my house as they were watching it, and laughing at each other. It's all here on the tape !

Even though the master VHS was transferred directly to DVD-R and then to VIDEO TS, the quality is that of a VHS from 1981: some drop-outs and hickups. But...it rocks ! The first part of the concert is shot from the back, then the camera moves closer to the stage, and finally it is shot from the side balcony. To get at least the best quality I transferred it all in HQ DVD, so it's a bulky 4 GIG for 1 hour of Video

Note that I have used no noise reduction or "click and pop" filtering on the tapes of the bootleg vinyl recordings, they have been left exactly as they were recorded originally - in the case of the Seattle tracks, the vinyl surface noise is really not noticeable at all anyway IMO, and only a little bit is noticeable at the start of the first of the 1983(?) demo tracks. Again, please check out the audio samples I will be providing for a better idea.

Tracks 01 - 03 are live audience recordings, and as such of lower quality (but still considerably better than the CBGB's mp3 version that's here:-

which sounds as if the tape it was sourced from has been put through a mangle or something!). 

The rest of the tracks were originally taken from the mixing desk/soundboard, and are mostly of at least very good quality. 

Note that, although some of these could probably benefit from it, I have used no equalization, noise reduction or "click and pop" filtering whatsoever on the tapes of the bootleg vinyl recordings, they have been left exactly as they were recorded originally, as far as my playback equipment and soundcard was able to reproduce and capture them. If anyone has the time and wants to try doing so (i.e. NR), please feel free to upload an alternative cleaned up copy if possible, unfortunately I don't have the time to do it at the moment (and I do know from prior experience that click-and-pop removal in e.g. CoolEdit Pro can take ages to do properly, i.e. without overly affecting the original musical quality or making it sound too "digitally" compressed).
