Notes by the taper
It was a brutally hot and humid day. Absolutely incredible heat. Brad Paisley opened up the show and did a phenomenal job. My only regret was not taping his set. Nice guest appearances by Carrie Underwood and Joe Walsh. Southern Comfort Zone went over very well and set the tone perfectly for the whole evening.

Regarding the recording, originally I had planned to not tape the show. Knowing how little variation there is in the setlist, and that my seats were 11th row on the floor in section E, I really wanted to enjoy this early Father's Day present to me and my dad. At the last minute I decided to record the gig and I am glad I did. This could very well be my last Rolling Stones concert, and if so, I am glad to have documented it. This was my 15th Stones show and I have had the opportunity to see them in large venues (Soldier Field) and small (Beacon). Although the setlist is stagnant, the performance was fantastic.

In terms of quality, our section was moving all over the place so the sound will change here n there throughout songs, but nothing so drastic as to ruin the experience. I only did some light EQing to get the mix to sound like it did that night. It was ABRASIVELY LOUD. LOVED IT. Guitars were pure fire coming out of that PA system! I can critique the house mix to death (Charlie's highhat should be louder, and that snare should crack more on the top end), but overall it was great.

Bruce and band perform a 24-song set at Rock in Rio Festival, only the second time Springsteen has played in Portugal. Bruce didn't take to the stage until after midnight on the morning of June 4, and it was nearly 2.45am before he was finally done. Set closes with the tour debut of "Twist and Shout," the first time this year a show hasn't ended with "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out". Fireworks started when he finished "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" as a form of closing the Festival. But Bruce didn't care and neither did the 81,000 people attending this show who have been waiting 19 years for his comeback. "She's The One", "I'm On Fire", and "Hungry Heart" are played by sign request. First ever performances in Portugal of "We Take Care Of Our Own", "Wrecking Ball", "Death To My Hometown", "My City Of Ruins", "Spirit In The Night", "No Surrender", "She's The One", "I'm On Fire", "Shackled And Drawn", "Waitin' On A Sunny Day",
"The Rising", "Lonesome Day", "We Are Alive", "Dancing In The Dark", "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out", and "Twist And Shout". Patti Scialfa is not present.

Some two hours of high definition pro-shot footage circulates, comprised of nineteen songs. The video begins with "Spirit In The Night" and is missing the first six tracks. The first verse of "Waitin' On A Sunny Day" is cut.

Note:
This is a soundboard recording, with a pretty good mix, you can hear Bono breathe at times. It is slightly pushing the high frequency distortion level at times, but not so that it takes much away from your listening pleasure. The audience level is very soft, which makes for a strange but interesting effect. 'Dancing Queen' is played as well as a stunning cover of 'Stand By Me'. Good performance from U2. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good ZooTV concert.

NOTES
This is from a silver, NOT from any 'live' download site...***

This is the classic show where Lars pulled out due to illness, causing a 90 minute delay on the showstart time & thusly a reduced show due to licensing restrictions. Strangely enough, this was probably the most entertaining show I'd seen them play since the 100 Club in 1987...this was actually fun, just like the old shows - ah well...This is direct from the soundboard, with a beautiful
warm attacking sound that just sounds absolutely beautiful played loud, either through cans or a pa system & like I said, it sounds like the band are having fun up there with other drummers - complete with 'interesting interpretations' of Lars' rhythms. Three other drummers were used, Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), & Flemming Larsen (Lars' drum tech since before the gods that made the gods were born...) & as to who played on what, why spoil the surprise?

Here is a wonderful Deep purple Concert that I downloaded a while back. The show was in 1987 in Irvine, CA in support of "Perfect Strangers". I saw this tour in 1985 in Hollywood, Florida and I still it was the best Rock concert I have ever been to. Some songs appear to be missing from this tour on this date so I added them to fill out the show. This is a terrific show and and excellent sounding SBD. Make sure to remove gaps between tracks in Nero or whichever application you use.

Notes:
a wealth of 1964-1968 footage of the band, even including a couple of live 1964 clips (of "Louise" and "I Wish You Would") with the Eric Clapton lineup. Some of the scenes with the Jeff Beck lineup are terrifically exciting live performances, particularly their Shindig versions of "For Your Love," "Heart Full of Soul," and a wild "I'm a Man." The less widely circulated 1966 NME Poll Winners Concert shows them with Beck doing strong live versions of "Train Kept A-Rollin'" and "Shapes of Things," and a 1967 German TV clip has the Jimmy Page lineup on "Shapes of Things," "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" (though Page can't quite simulate all the psychedelic sounds of the instrumental break), "Over Under Sideways Down," and (oddly, not listed on the cover) an extended "I'm a Man." The biggest kick of all is reserved for a 1968 French television appearance that had the Page lineup present "Dazed and Confused" -- the same song more famously recorded slightly later by Led Zeppelin, and which the Yardbirds never released an official version of while active. As a bonus, there's also a German Beat Club performance by Renaissance, the band singer Keith Relf and drummer Jim McCarty formed after the Yardbirds Broke up good luck guitar sam in kansas city

The band has been stripped down a bit but in classics like Toussaint, Incident, Jingo and BMW/GQ still tight as hell. The way A Love Supreme is played appeals to me far more than in the past. Great to hear some teases of Every Step of the Way in She's not there. When I look into your eyes is, as on the Isley album, embedded in the last part of Are you ready people. As a bonus I've also added the soundcheck of the show and some scans of the artwork
