Notes: There was a ton of hype for this show, mainly due to the featured songwriter, who many hoped/prayed would make an appearance. Well he didn't, and the show went on. I was in a good spot, facing the stacks, but this is a bar on a Saturday night full of drunk people. During all the ballads you will hear the delightful voices of said people. During the first 5-6 songs, there is the added noise of people squeezing through the back of the room where I was standing. Lots of "no room to move", "I got three ladies with me", "just going to the bathroom", yada yada yada. Overall a nice recording from a very cool and fun night. I have some video too, but from where I was standing it was limited.

The sound is excellent (to a point). We were lucky to be in an area that was not loud. Though you will hear the guy next to me offer me a drink during Fever - he was being nice LOL. However you will notice that Johnny fades in and out over the course of the show. Since our recording levels never changed the changing sound was due to the venue and the soundboard.

NOTES:
The "Come Together: Jon Bon Jovi & Friends" benefit concert was organized by the Long Branch Police Department, The Asbury Park Press, and FPI Concerts, along with Jon Bon Jovi. The concert was to honor slain Long Branch police officer Sgt. Patrick King and raise money for the Sgt. Patrick King Memorial Fund to provide for his family.
King, 45-year-old father of two young boys, was fatally shot on 20 Nov 1997 by a fugitive who had vowed to kill himself and a police officer rather than be captured and returned to jail.

20 musicians with ties to the Jersey shore music scene answered Jon Bon Jovi's call, including Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa and several members of the then-disbanded E Street Band (Clarence Clemons, Danni Frederici, Patti Scialfa, Little Steven, and Max Weinberg), Southside Johnny, Bobby Bandiera, and Richie Sambora among others.
Actor Danny DeVito was the event's MC.

This was a near-reunion of the fabled E Street Band and Bruce's first full-length electric gig following the acoustic: The Ghost Of Tom Joad Solo Acoustic Tour. Springsteen spent much of (or maybe all) the night onstage, singing or playing guitar only.

Here comes another SSJ recording.
This was not listed in the db.etree.org database. I'm not sure how rare this is, but I'd bet that it'll be new for many of you. The tape flips were between tracks 9 & 10 and 17 & 18. There are random tape stops between some of the songs near the end, most likely to preserve tape. The only song that is cut, is track 17. It cuts off at the end.

Notes
this is a transfer i did a couple of years back from my off the air reel masters. it's the capitol theater, passaic 10th anniversary concert that was broadcast live on wnew in nyc. i was able to capture the entire show that went from around 7:30 pm to almost 5:00 am. included here are some of the greats and since i recorded this myself off the air, unless a pre-fm comes along, this is probably the best copy out there from one source. i wasn't ssure what category to put this in but since it does contain a long set by the allmans, i chose that. all the info is listed below.
