Notes by the taper
My Sony ECM-DS70P appears to have died, so I used the built in mics on the Zoom and was pleasantly surprised. The sound in the theater
was a little bassy and very low on high end. I eq'd a little high end into the mix and it sounds very nice. The seat next to me was empty, so I stuck my coat on the chair and the zoom on top of the coat. Crowd was nice and quiet during the music.
Recorded in the 7th row about 15 feet house left of center. Powers Auditorium is an old majestic theater that appears to have been restored fairly recently and is the home to the Youngstown Symphony.
