Introduction by DGB :
As previously indicated in a posting by Boguspomp, in a joint colaboration between DGB & Boguspomp all of my Eric Clapton master recordings will be released under the DGB-EC series. All of these recordings will be transferred directly from my master recordings & remastered by the wonderful & talented Boguspomp for optimum sound quality. Many of these recordings have been released in various formats over the years including releases under bootleg labels such as Mid Valley. All of these releases have never been taken directly from my master recordings since I have never given or authorised the release of my master recordings directly to any bootleg label. The intent is to release the best versions possible of these recordings.
I will provide my own personal comments based on my recollections & memories of each show that is released. Some of these stories will include the many challenges of recording shows. References will be made to personal contacts & friends, but for privacy purposes, no names will be disclosed. Anyone reading these stories will know who you are. I will also provide my own personal opinion ab ut the sound quality of each recording, as well as the quality of Eric's performance. I have seen Eric Clapton countless times (80+ and counting) and am very critical, not only of my own recordings, but also of Eric's playing. These are my own personal opinions, which you may not necessarily agree with,
but having seen Eric Clapton as many times as I have, I feel that I am probably a good judge.
If you do not agree with my comments, please do not hold this against me. Remember this is just my personal opinion.
Both Boguspomp and I would like to hear from anyone with any feedback or opinions whether these are good or bad.
Comment by DGB about this show :
Located in the 1st block right hand side of stage... Very good to excellent recording...
Outstanding performance... One of the best shows that I ever seen from Eric & definitely one of the best shows from the 1992 tour.
Eric came out on fire right from the start. Great versions of ''She's Waiting'',''Before You Accuse Me'', ''Old Love'', ''Tearing Us Apart'' & ''Crossroads''.
Out of the many shows that I have recorded, this venue had one of the tighest security that I have ever experienced.
Went to this show with a good friend of mine... He walked in first through the gates. The security were searching people from head to toe.
Never seen anything like this before... Unfortunatley my friend got caught with his recording equipment.
However, rather than checking himself in he walked back out of the venue.
Since I could see that the security guard was distracted with this incident, I purposely moved myself to him so that I could be searched & go in.
Amazingly he did not search me one little bit as his eyes were still wandering on my friend.
Little did he suspect that there would be 2 people in a row walking in with recording equipment!
Comments by Boguspomp :
Ok, here is the first of many 1992 shows to come. In the next couple of days I will post 4 february 1992 shows and also Vancouver 2001.
After that we continue for a while with more KAR (Kick Ass Recordings), followed by a bunch of the RAH 1992 shows.
As DGB mentions above, we will post eventually all his recordings of EC shows.
This one starts off with a lot of power and remains throughout the show on a very high level. Between Old Love and Badge is a tapeflip, so a good place to split the CD's.
It's a most excellent performance. I would recommend this one to everybody
My favourites here is the early version of "My Fathers Eyes" (quite different from the version that Clapton released 6 years later, officially) and "Old Love".
I must admit that I have always disliked "She's Waiting". Sounded like such a parody of a song. But this version (and other 1992 versions) of "She's Waiting" made me appreciate it; as the sound and guitarplaying by Clapton in 1992 was so strong; that he even made a turd into silver.
