Day 2 of Clapton I get my gear together and use the same method as day 1 and hav no issues getting in. While waiting, another taper I know sks me if I want the seat next to him since he has an extra. It is about 10 rows closer so I say yes. I know have an extra and know my friend Elizabeth is looking but on a budget. He said get what I can and I knew what Elizabeth had to spend. We are able to work it out and I forward her the seat. I get in and enjoy the Jimmy Vaughan set from the start. Gary Clark was good as well and the sound was much improved from the night before. The question was gong to be same set list or some changes. The first part of the show starts the same but Eric has much more energy and the playing is more insprired. I shot the Sheriff was a highlight. The sound was also noticeably better. When the acoustic set starts with Drifin Blues I was waiting to see what followed. Like the first night we got Lay Down Sallie which was really well played. The acoustic version of Layla was one of my favorite too. After Tears in Heaven we got White Room again and it was even better than the first night. Was hard to believe this was Clapton in hos 70's, not 50's. The show finished up the same as night oneand Ileft feeling that if I never see Clapton play again I saw his las show at a high point. In my opinion this was the best of the five shows I was lucky enough to see in 2017. After the show we hopped the subway to my friend's bar and had a great night celebrating a fun run of Clapton shows.
