I have done a gentle Adobe Audition CC remaster for my factory 2003 Nissan Micra CD player which involved:
3db level cut / phase correction / low shelf boost / slight stereo image widening / +2db compensation boost hard limited to 0.3db
SBE fix/Checksum files done in Traders Little Helper
