Frank Zappa - 1969-07-08 - Boston, MA (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

This is a new remastered version of one of the best early Mothers bootlegs, if not THE best. The performance, choice of repertoire and overall sound quality are exceptional. This one is a no-brainer for anyone even slightly interested in live Mothers Of Invention.

Circulating copies of this show are off by 40 samples causing the stereo image to smear and lean to the right. Fixing this did a world of good and centered and stabilized the stereo image. While I was at it, I fixed the muddy EQ which really brought the recording to life. Nothing else was done to enhance the sound. The copy of the show used here is said to be a 4th gen copy but I think it sounds better than that, possibly 2nd or 3rd gen with some reel gens in there, but who knows. At some point, the channels were horribly misaligned and it has circulated this way for a long time.

This version of the show is unedited and has several more minutes of material and the correct sequencing compared to the original boot LP and "Beat The Boots" versions.
