Notes:
The venue is a very intimate place, in a beautiful old town. Around 3000 people, too much for the square, were attending the concert.
After a very jazzy start, Van moves to Rock-Blues and performs, among other jewels, a very rare "High Summer" and what are arguably the best versions ever played of "In The Afternoon" and "Philosophers Stones". Van obviously enjoys the show (even screaming during the bass solo in "Philosophers Stone"!), he's in a rare great mood. Well-known anecdot, he commented after the show: "Nice place, nice audience, nice gig !"
According to the VLS folks (thanks!), although the performance was filmed by TVE only two songs were ever broadcasted. Some rare video tape of the whole performance later surfaced and one was the basis of the VLS release that widely circulated as a VCD and a DVD. Some low quality audio bootlegs, most probably ripped from this video also circulated.
Now, thanks to Antonio's great source and to Diana_Woei who did the transfers, we have a new rip from a master or very low generation VHS tape. The audio was transfered separately, then painfully remastered and resynchronised to the video. What you have here is the complete audio + video package of this stellar show in the best quality ever circulating.
