ARGGHHHHH sounded fine on my laptop speakers but there is some underlying static, and I have new microphones the exact same kind but didn't have a chance to sufficiently test them to feel confident using them in this environment. Oh well.
Okay I had a ticket see Jesus Jones at the 100 Club in London and wanted to go see a Suede show and even tried to contact every taper I knew here without any luck, tho I think a different show is coming along soon.
So between that, still holding over a year's concert budget and wanting to catch the last 2 shows of the tour, the ticket prices weren't quite the hinderance as they usually would be.
And I was able to experience an adventure that almost matched the 2013 rehearsals (recounted here)

But this one required some mercenary tactics and blowing apart any "fan code," none of which I ever really subscribed to (I mean I didn't sell this, I actually put up the raw wave as soon as I got back to the hotel).
This one was a sold out show in a 7000 seater where most tickets ranged from 600 to 1000$ yet a huge chunk actually sold or resold for much more. Now I did think, or hope, that the resale market would peak and decline like has happened with just about every show I tracked this year, and there were indications it may be happening but by the time I got to Austin I realized I had seriously misjudged. But the sunk costs were already spent and I just had to do my best and hope for the best.
Got there really early for lunch with friends.
Then hit the casino floor hard while constantly checking online and getting really nervous about the skyrocketing prices and dwindling supply.
Ended up finding someone with some really underpriced seats. Not what I wanted but knew it would be a grevious error to let them go. And he wanted to keep both of them together. Forked over the cash, got the tickets into my TM account and broadcast to the online marketplaces at a more appropriate price while I thought about what I wanted to do and kept looking for the seat I wanted.
They sold immediately. And at a still too low of a price as they just kept going up. And I still needed a ticket.
I realize I might have screwed myself out of a show but kept plugging away. Found someone with a 300 level single at a ridiculous price. I didn't really want to sit there but went ahead and bought it and this time held on to it while I kept looking for something lower. But the doors were open with the fans filing in and any opportunities fading.
Then I did the math in my head and factoring in the other pair, my current out of pocket cost was a measly $100. I had enjoyed plenty of shows from the cheap seats and just because it's the most expensive Stones show ever, it doesn't have to be MY most expensive show.
So I decided to just go in and enjoy the show, now riding the most intense natural high in years. Early in the show when suddenly they were doing YCAGWY as the 5th song I just knew they skipped 2 and it was going to be the shortest headline show since 1978. Hahahaha, Thanks For The Money Suckers and just thinking of the howling on the message boards only sent me flying even higher.
And watching them in Austin I just knew they weren't going to be doing a special theatre show setlist tho I didn't really expect them to cut down their regular set this much.
Sasha Allen was amazing here and pretty much the highlight of all the shows I have seen this tour.
Great show and probably my most fulfilling trip ever.
