Review by: Alan L.(Taken from van.vanomatic.de)
Good solid show with Van in excellent voice; he played lots of sax in the early stages, more guitar later on. "Have I Told You Lately" and "Precious Time" out of the way early on. Georgie Fame guesting on "Vanlose Stairway". The show really took off towards the end with a really excellent "In The Afternoon>Ancient Highway>Raincheck>Joe Turner Sings", then "And The Healing Has Begun" taking us up to the 90 minute mark. Van then returned to the stage for a couple of "bonus tracks", "Help Me" and "Gloria". An enjoyable concert. While there's a chance of performances like the "In The Afternoon" medley, I'll continue to go to these shows.
Enlight note:
Thx to Alan L. for the review and vanomatic.
credits to the original taper/uploader.
Excellent sound , good performance by the whole band.
A more eclectic set, Van plays the sax a lot at the start of the set, later he switch more to guitar.
A "funny" moment is that during the end of Mystic church, Van has the band playing as soft as they can,
the stage lights falls and Van "sneaks" from the podium, a kind of vanishing to trick the audience,
It could have been quite cool had he not bumped into the bass player, dropped the microphone with a crash, which gave a hard noise through the Hammersmith apollo.................luckely he did came back for the encore.
