(Soundboard FLAC)
The Catalyst
First transfer for this excellent previously lost cassette master. It sounds like a straight soundboard recording but after comparing again with the 1987-06-26 Ventures that I know is a live matrix recording I've decided that this recording does have some ambience in the mix, just not much. I've clarified the lineage below and in the linked info file (again!).
Lineage:
Monitor soundboard feed + 2 Crown PZM microphones + 2 Nakamichi cm300 microphones and one other ambient microphone mounted on balcony railing > live matrix "tape mix" > Sony TC-WR950 quick auto-reverse deck > Dolby C encoded Maxell XLII-S 60 & XLII-S 90 cassette master.
Transfer [2013-06-15]:
Nakamichi Dragon (Dolby C decoded) > Macintosh with Digidesign Audiomedia III card > Pro Tools (minor "nip & tuck" edits, normalization & tracking - no equalization or DNR) > AIFF > xACT (Flac level 8 files with sector boundaries verified).

Note:
It was so loud over the stage that it was hard to get an optimal live mix but notes were kept for each band in case they later returned. Some of the mixes sounded more ambient than others and this one really sounds more like a straight soundboard feed but does have a bit of ambience too and the quality is fantastic on all of it. Highly recommended!
