NOTES:
Steve Marriott was awesome!! What a voice. Those familiar will agree. Time to introduce this one of a kind blues singer here. This part of the band was after Peter Frampton left, for those who were unaware of this. Not very long, but very nice!!!

Notes by the uploader:
I took forever, weeks of researches to exactly configure this reel to reel tape, that i had there laying down....well, this is the mother tape of all the other tapes circulating as "1st lp outtakes". I had a dozen of tapes as "1st lp outtakes", so i checked them one by one, including the recent one circulating in different Cipollina's trees as JC master #80. Well i found out that all those versions of the Fool, are taken from this tape, and this is the only tape that have all them together ! So probably it happened that in the years somebody took pieces from this tape and mixed those versions with the other songs of the 1st lp. I'm sure of this cause the 1st lp was recorded piece by piece between late 1967 and early 1968, and they had different days and months in which they were rehearsing and recording 1 particular song, so the point is that there are whole tapes with the recording of each song, but all the tapes in circulation were assembled taking songs from a lot of different tapes. So, for example, the session of the fool for the album official release took place December 19th 1967, so the date i had on the reel to reel box make sense, even if it is not certain. Hope i gave you something to enjoy and discuss about it.....

Disc 2: Rare Videos
In the early 70's, the director of the program, Michael Lekebush (Michael Leckebusch) returned to the live format. What was a great rarity for TV programs of that time, and not only Germany. The invited artists enjoyed playing live on the set, often without limiting themselves to 1-2 numbers, and sometimes giving whole "concerts" for 30-40 minutes. The next issue of the program included, as a rule, 1-2 numbers from such concerts. Thus, in the archives of the transfer, about 400 videos accumulated, never being broadcast. Some of these concerts were shown in 2008-2009 on the 1festival channel as part of the transfer of Vinyl - The Lost Concerts. A complete list of the videos not shown in the transfer archives is available in the bookBeat-Club: alle Sendungen, alle Stars, alle Songs . (in brackets - the number of the transmission for which the video was recorded and the date of its broadcast.) If the number is not specified, the date of recording the video)

REVIEW: Before the Sea Of Tunes label began their landmark series of releases, this two-cd release on the Silver Shadow label was the best-sounding album of early Beach Boys studio outtakes on the market. Covering the period between "Help Me Ronda" (single version) and "Heroes and Villains," the bulk of material is from 1966's Party! album and the Pet Sounds sessions. It begins with the much-talked about 40-minute long "Ronda" sessions in which Brian and Murray have a tempestuous run-in, with Brian in charge of the sessions, and then slowly, his father Murry, who has been invited to sit in with Audree Wilson, slowly begins to take over the session, belittling Brian in front of the other band members, goading him, taunting him, and when Brian, obviously trying to reign in his anger breaks loose, it's the clearest representation of their stormy relationship ever captured, and it's electrifying, and far more illuminating than any other biographical portrait given. Murry is a deadly calm steamroller, crushing Brian under an unending stream of dreary platitudes and goading taunts, and Brian is trying to squirm out from under the crushing patriarchial weight. Then the CD breezes into the light-hearted rehearsals for the Party! album, with Brian trying to urge the less-than-serious band to get to work. There are early versions of "Student Demonstration Time," an unreleased song, "One Kiss Led to Another," and lots of studio chatter. Disc two is a mish mash of various tracks, also in stellar sound, with takes of "Good To My Baby," several tracks from Pet Sounds, and finishes with crystal-clear session takes of "Good Vibrations" and a lengthy seven-plus-minute run on the "Heroes and Villians" track.

"More Echo on Vocals towards the ending of the song'
Scream Thy Last Scream:
"Nick Mason or Syd Barrett could be heard coughing at 1:29 into the track"
"There is an extremely disturbing low-toned cry/moan at 4:13 in the track"
Notes by the uploader:
"A while ago, I met a guy name Saq who lives in Los Angeles who had a very nice record in his possession. Saq had, what I believe to be the only known Acetate copy of "Vegetable Man" and "Scream Thy Last Scream" from 1967. I tried desperately to obtain it from him but he informed me that he would only let it go for $10,000 US Dollars (CASH!!!)
I tried to stay in communications with him for more than a year and begged him to at least have the tracks recorded. He agreed to do me the favor, and sent the Acetate to a professional studio in San Francisco to have the tracks recorded properly.
After months of desperately waiting, he finally received his Acetate back along with the digital tracks. Thankfully, the same day he picked up his record was the same day he sent me the magical tracks.
After more than a year of waiting, I finally got the tracks and now want to share them with all of you. We are the real Syd Barrett crazies and we all deserve to listen to his art. There should be no discovery made that ends up back in the vaults.
There a notes from my friend and collector, Giuliano Navarro. So, this is absolute unheard new mix of "Scream". Thank you very much for sharing this with all fans, Giuliano!

First of all, this work is totally amateur...
I took this DVD from here: http://jungleland.dnsalias.com/torrents-details.php?id=35775 and I tried to make it more watchable, editing image and audio. Preview/comparison video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B6LLuH147k
The DVD also included the original audio, if someone don't like how the remaster sounds. The only thing I did is down the volume a bit to match it with the edited audio.
Also, I added interactive menus with instant chapter access to songs.
Artwork included.
Audio and video remastering, DVD authoring and artwork design by otacon.

This set collects material recorded at Jimi's house on Traver Hollow Road in the summer of 1969. Most were probably recorded on the 4-track machine that Eddie Kramer installed at Jimi's request; some are possibly recorded on 2-track. The first 2 tracks on Disc 1 were recorded by Gerry Guida on a portable reel recorder.
Although this material has often been referred to as The Woodstock Rehearsals, much of this could never have been considered for inclusion at that show. In addition, this isn't a "complete" Shokan collection; Other recordings include the Ephron jams (ATM 193-194 "At His Best?") and possibly the jams with a 2nd guitarist that were collected on ATM 072-073 "Healing Power". Portions of these recordings have previously appeared on the collectors' sets ATM 003 "The Woodstock Rehearsals", ATM 044 "Drinking Wine, Sipping Time" and ATM 072-073 "Healing Power". Some of those are upgraded here. There's also little definite information regarding recording dates and personnel. While most of these recordings are thought to be from August, some could also be from July or September.
The first 2 tracks were earlier thought to have been recorded in Beverly Hills in mid-1969; John McDermott and Gerry Guida recently confirmed that they were recorded on Guida's portable reel machine at the Shokan house. There are two songs with vocals by Larry, Why I Sing the Blues and Ain't Got Nobody, where Jimi's playing is not evident. The final block of material is just Jimi and Mitch. It has been speculated from the themes quoted in this section that it might come from after Woodstock, possibly early September, so it was placed last in the collection.
This set upgrades portions of material found on ATM 003 The Woodstock Rehearsals, ATM 044 Drinking Wine, Sipping Time and ATM 072-073 Healing Power. More Shokan recordings are available on ATM 193-194 At His Best? (The Mike Ephron Sessions) and ATM 035 Apartment Jams / ATM 072-073 Healing Power (The so-called Taj Mahal Jams some sources list the recording date and location for the Apartment Jams [aka. the so-called "Taj Mahal Jams"] as Jimi's Apartment, New York City, NY 21.01.70, but it's more likely the recordings were made around the same time as the Woodstock Rehearsals at Jimi's House, Shokan, NY july-aug.1969.).
