(FM broadcast FLAC)
This is the second Hobnail version of The Beatles BBC recordings, titled Unsurpassed Broadcasts. It is generally regarded as an upgrade to the Purple Chick version. i added a tracklist file, and deleted the burrrn software from the original. Sorry about the switch between date formats, but i cut and pasted from different sources. Thank you Hobnail, for doing a great job with this compilation.

Jimi Hendrix - 1990 - Laughing Dice - BBC Documentary (DVDfull pro-shot) by REQUEST

(DVDfull pro-shot)
Jimi Hendrix "Laughing Dice"
BBC 2 Documentary
Length 27 minutes
Aired: September 5, 1990
This is a BBC Documentary, aired 20 years after Jimi died in september 1990. It is a collage of Hendrix footage and BBC Archive footage, without a voice over, but with texts. It starts off with 30 seconds of the Psychedelic 'Manic Depresion' broadcast of April 17th 1967 ( Don't expext too much of that .... ) It also contains good footage of 'Wild Thing' at Clark Universty March 15th 1968.
Plus
The Lulu show (HY SOYL and VC)
Isle of Wight (a bit of Machine Gun, mistakenly stated as 'Red House', shame on you BBC.)
A lot of the old 'Experience' film footage.
So, nothing groundbreaking, but good to burn to DVD, watch and put on the shelf. The DVD was extracted from a VHS copy, that was directly made from the TV airing in 1990. Sound is a little flat, but OK for a VHS.

DVB>LGDVDRecorder>HD>DVDShrink>The Trader's Den.
To mark the 40th anniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody, this documentary digs deep into archive to tell the story of Queen as it follows their journey from a struggling band gigging at pubs and colleges to the moment they captured the UK's hearts and minds with what was to become one of - if not the - greatest song of all time.
Queen's formative years have never been explored in such detail. With a wealth of unseen interviews, recently unearthed rushes of Queen's first ever video and outtakes from the recording sessions of Bohemian Rhapsody itself, this is the unique story of early Queen, told by the band themselves.
This documentary completes the final part of the trilogy alongside Days of Our Lives and Freddie Mercury: The Great Pretender.
It's simple. It's real. It's raw. It's what happened.

Bruce was interviewed by WMMR DJ Ed Sciaky on this date and Ed played this version on the radio (just a different mix from the album version), the first time the airwaves had heard it. Bruce seemed to like it.
02 Frankie
Recorded June 3, 1977 Atlantic Studios, New York City, NY
Written sometime in early 1976, Bruce recorded this excellent song during the Darkness sessions, although it appears he did not finish it at the time. This version is from the sessions.
03 Darkness On The Edge Of Town
Recorded June 1977 Atlantic Studios, New York City, NY
Before we got the album version, Bruce fiddled around with the arrangement, adding some very nice guitar work to the song, some might say worthy of an official release.
04 I Wanna Be With You
Recorded June 1, 1977 Atlantic Studios, New York City, NY
Unknown to many, Bruce recorded this song before re-recording it during the River sessions and then releasing that excellent version on Tracks. This take was recorded on the first day of the Darkness sessions and is musically great but Bruce hadn't completed the lyrics yet. Still, it is powerful.
05 Mr. Outside
Recorded late 1979 Bruce's Home, Holmdel, New Jersey
Recorded by Bruce as a demo in his house. He never recorded it in studio for the River album but for some reason decided to release it on the Ties That Bind: The River Collection even though it is not an outtake. And he edited the version too!; this is the full demo in all of its glory with a catchy melody.
06 Murder Incorporated [#1]
Recorded May 3-4, 1982 The Power Station, New York City, NY
Now an infamous song with a hazy meaning, "Murder Incorporated" is now anticipated by fans at live shows. This version is different from the officially released one; first it includes
more backing vocals and second it includes the full song uncut, with no fade.
07 Murder Incorporated [#2]
Recorded May 3-4, 1982 The Power Station, New York City, NY
Same take as mentioned above, but includes no backing vocals in the first verse; it is also uncut.
08 None But The Brave
Recorded June 1983 The Power Station, New York City, NY
A live rarity, this version is a different mix that features less overdubs than the officially released version.
09 Glory Days
Recorded May 5, 1982 The Power Station, New York City, NY
Now one of Bruce's famous rockers, this version of "Glory Days" is uncut (it features the extra verse that was cut from the album version) and features Bruce's count-in and some talk before the take.
10 Cover Me
Recorded January 25, 1982 The Hit Factory, New York City, NY
This version is the same as the album version, but it features a different mix that lacks Bruce's lead guitar in the song besides the guitar solo. Also, the saxophone and piano are turned up in the mix more.
11 Bruce's Answering Machine Message
Recorded sometime in the 1980's
An interesting little short song Bruce wrote and recorded for his answering machine message in the early 1980's. This recording seems to originate from someone calling Bruce's house phone and then recording it at the same time; as to how this guy got his number, I would like to know.
A little background information: I am constantly obtaining cassette tapes with Springsteen recordings on them. I recently acquired a lot of tapes, mostly live stuff, but there were a few with outtake cassettes too. And this is how we got here. I played them back and discovered some no new material but some songs that sounded better than the circulating sources. I also discovered some rarer versions of songs. So I decided to share them with the collector community. I recorded the songs and edited them slightly in Wavepad, some EQing and normalizing for the most part. Just to be clear, some of the songs sound better than circulating sources, keyword is some. Others are only included because of their rarity. For example, the versions of "Murder Incorporated" are only included because of their completeness; they include the full take with no fade. "Glory Days" is included because it includes the full take as well, with no fade and with the extra verse that was cut from the officially released version, although it is a little distorted at times. The three tracks from the Darkness sessions that are included here ("Frankie," "I Wanna Be With You," and "Darkness On The Edge Of Town") sounded better to me than circulating sources; you be the judge. As to the lineage of the cassettes, I have no clue. There is a fair amount of hiss on the tapes, so they can't be that low of a generation. But whatever the source of the original songs on the tapes, they sound pretty damn good. And this upload kind of overlaps Bruce laying down a majority of the tracks on the Born In The USA album 35 years ago. Also on this day 40 years ago, Bruce walked into the studio for the first
time in 3 years to start recording the Darkness album, and one of the tracks recorded that first night is featured here ("I Wanna Be With You").

Notes:
Here is a compilation of Don Kirshner Rock Concert performances focusing on the Soul, r&b, and funk side of things. A recent torrent at TTD provided upgrades to my Billy Preston (#263650Â ) and Ojay's (off tracker) torrents but these upgrades were NOT complete. I have added my complete footage with the upgraded footage creating the most complete and best quality viewing experience possible in 1 DVD. I shared the GCS footage contained here several years ago but it is deserving of being a part of this compilation despite its video quality. The Cameo footage has been color corrected and must be considered an upgrade, but, despite the added song to the set list, there is no additional footage as the song title "On The One" was erroneously left off of the original torrent set list.
DVD has each song chaptered, however the top menu only allows direct navigation to each artist.
This is a great compilation of funky soul and r&b. Enjoy.

Some words from the BEEB:
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones we delve into the BBC vaults to deliver some timeless Stones archive. From the early days of their career and some unforgettable performances on Top of the Pops with 'The Last Time', 'Let's Spend The Night Together' and 'Get Off Of My Cloud' through the late 60s and early 70s era of prolific song writing when the band were knocking out a classic album every other year and offering up such classics as 'Honky Tonk Women' and 'Gimme Shelter'.
The late 70s brought a massively successful nod to disco with Miss You and the early 80s a stomping return to form with the rock 'n' roll groove of Start Me Up. Peppered amongst the performances are snippets of wisdom from the two main men - The Glimmer Twins, aka Mick and Keith. Plus as a special treat, some lost footage of the band performing 19th Nervous Breakdown on Top of the Pops in 1966 - recently discovered in a BBC documentary from the 1960s about women with depression.

The Rolling Stones - 1966 - Could You Walk on Water Sister Morphine (STU/FLAC)

The Rolling Stones
Could You Walk On Water
Sister Morphine (Morph 14) - flac
No information on predownload lineage from unknown benefactor other than:
CD-Rs* > EAC > shn > HungerCity(2008-04-06) > Azureus > iMac (G3 17", 1999, 1GHz ) > HD (Maxtor OneTouch4plus 750) > std. Ethernet cable (2018) > iMac (27", late 2013, 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, macOS 10.13.4) > xACT 2.41 (shn files to flac, verify mode) > (ffp's, md5, st5) > Transmission 2.94 > You.
This is the original Sister Morphine (Morph 14) 'CYWOW bootleg' (d1 t1-10) of the unreleased Rolling Stones album planned for Christmas of 1965. Plus 'after the fact' (d1 t11-21) and 'big hits' (d2 t1-18). Traditionally both the Stones and the Beatles would release albums in time for the holliday gift season, but 'Beatles 65' met no reply from their rivals. At the time, most fans blamed the executives at Dekka records for what was viewed as a lack of fortitude.
Of some minor interest is that 'Doncha Bother Me' is here entitled 'Don't You Follow Me'. Two versions of 'Heart Of Stone', one about a minute longer than the other. Lots of alt. Aftermath tracks, as noted. Lots of comments from Brian Jones fans, though Keef notes (legend + autobiog) frustration over his lack of help with the preparation for the Aftermath album...
This is all recorded in so-called "wide" stereo and the sound is real clean and clear so that each instrument is heard easily and separate from the others. In many of the tracks, Jones and Wyman are on the left with Keith on the right and Mick with the drums in the center. checkout Keith playing the 12string electric he found in the studio on 'Mother's'. Brian's playing does reach out.

Could You Walk On Water
- 20-bit Edition -
DECCA refused to release an album with such a "blaspheme" title!
Could YOU Walk On The Water is only blaspheme to people who say they believe but cannot put their faith (in)to action. The Rolling Stones said they couldn't walk on water; by standing in water to their necks. This pose was supposed to be the original cover but whether they actually did jump into the cold water, they only know. Remember this was late 1965 or early 1966. It was probably all tongue-in-cheek. In fact it all happened during the recording of the song 19th Nervous Breakdown.
Review by: Unknown, On 13 Feb 2000
Sister Morphine's COULD YOU WALK ON WATER is taken directly from the Stones own title which was canned by Decca due to the abstractness of the title itself. VGP's release had nothing whatsoever to do with the contents of the original recording. Nothing at all. I believe VGP was just copping the name to hopefully fool the overly excited. On the contrary, Sister Morphine's release has everything to do with the actual w-i-d-e stereo tracklisting of the original recordings.
