Liberated bootleg by our friends at TTD, many thanks :). includes rare footage from an relaxed Elvis before going on stage. Recommended watch. Stuff like this needs to be preserved for future generations of music lovers, so Planet Rock seems like the best place to share it with you all.

Here's a bunch of Sisters demos & outtakes I put together from what I believe to be the best circulating sources for all of these recordings. All of those sources are detailed below, so you can make out for yourself what you need/want and what you don't. Whenever vinyl sources were used (either by myself, or by the producers of the bootleg CD's), I have manually removed (nearly) all audible clicks & pops using the pen tool in SoundForge, so you might even consider downloading what you think you already have...

Tracks labeled B01-B14 have been put aside because
- they were mastered at a much louder volume than the other tracks, and I didn't want to subject the first 28 tracks to the same treatment (I'm all for dynamics in music, not just sheer volume);
- I already seeded them once before

I think this is a fairly comprehensive collection of unreleased Sisters studio recordings. I did not use any of the circulating 'rough mixes' of officially released tracks, because most of them are virtually indistinguishable from the latter AND of patently inferior sound quality (unless anybody knows differently, in which case I'd love to be told).One source I regret to say was not used: the 'Kenny Giles Walks On Water' bootleg that surfaced a couple of years ago and which I have never been able to track down 
- so if anybody could seed that one in addition to this lot, I'd be over the moon :-)

The unfinished album by the original pre-Steve Perry Journey. 13 tracks from the fusion tinged rockers plus 3 live tracks from pre-Journey fusion band Sears Schon Errico. If you love great guitar work you want this CD. If you do not like Journey you will like this. There are two songs with vocals.

The first thirteen tracks are all studio recordings and other than some hiss and slight distortion in louder places, are probably an 8.5-9 on a sound quality scale of 1 to 10.
The last three tracks are live recordings from the Sunshine Festival at the Diamond Head Crater, Honolulu, HI 1/1/73. In the liner notes to the 3rd Santana album from 1971, Rolie says when he and Neal quit the band (after the 4th album), he opened up a restaurant for a year before hooking up with Schon to form Journey. The 1st Journey album's songs are copyrighted 1974 and the album was released in '75, so it's logical Neal was doing something musically during the year or so between the two bands. All three of these tracks are instrumentals and it sounds like a decent audience recording. This outfit is sometimes refered to as Birthday or Happy Birthday. Herbie Herbert interviews tell that when him and Carlos Santana split during Christmas in '72 he grabbed Neal and Gregg and took them to a gig 5 days later in Hawaii on New Years Day in '73 (the three tracks here) and in March of '73 drew up the paperwork on a band yet un-named that would become Journey.

"...of a band I formed with Neal Schon (Santana, later Journey), Greg Errico (Sly & the Family Stone). We had no singer and were basically a power rock trio, although Greg Rolie sat in on a couple of tunes on B3 and sang “Black Magic Woman”...it was a fun band and went down well. The crowd went nuts...but we couldn’t find a singer that fit what we were trying to do. We played several shows on the mainland before going our different ways."

This DVD is simply sensational. After a long search, these films have just recently been circulated. There is nothing much to be said apart from: you have to see this to believe it. Magma in their prime. The long wait is over...

It is absolutely unclear why these have never been officially released.

The two clips from 1970 feature the band from the first album.

The 1973 clip is a very rare document of Magma just being Christian Vander, Blasquiz, Garber, Lambert on bass and Manderlier on keys. A trio with 3 vocalists (if you count Vander in, he sings a lot during MDK). Exceptional stuff.

Performance on DKRC'75 is written down from TV-broadcast of 1979 on VHS (to us, the eleventh copy of the copy, obviously, reached). DKRC'76 - copy to VHS from master tape (with copyright timecode), quality is not bad. The rest is recorded from modern (relatively) TV broadcasts. The exception is Mike Jarwood's show, the source of which can be VHS from a BBC master tape).

A concert from Keith Tippett's Rare Music Club in Bristol. Set up by Keith to promote contemporary classical, improvised and world music, all on the same bill, his aims were for audiences to be able "..to listen to a Bartok string quartet with a pint of Guinness or a glass of red wine, if they so wished…".

This night featured Northumbrian Pipe player Pauline Cato with some traditional tunes, followed by some contemporary classical from The Composers Ensemble and an improvised set by Mujician. FM broadcast by BBC Radio 3. MP3 sample in comments.

Recorded by me off air direct from the original broadcast in 1993 to a Panasonic Hi-Fi VHS video recorder in SP audio only mode. Sometime in the mid to late 1990's I misguidedly transferred all my radio recordings to VHS LP audio mode. This combined with the age of the tapes has resulted in some evident distortion throughout.
