RispondiEliminaBut I'm having a little confusion about the date and location. The artwork posted at T.U.B.E. says March 7, "Old Chicago," Bolingwood, IL. But everything else says March 6 at Park West in Chicago.
Meanwhile, thejamfan.net doesn't know of any recordings of the March 7 show, but lists 2 or 3 for the March 6 show.
Can you or someone clear this up?
Pretty sure it is the 6th.
EliminaThey played Chicago on both 6th and 7th March - venues are listed at Jamfan.net as Park West [6th] and Old Chicago Amusement Park [7th].
EliminaI was at the Old Chicago show, a handful of us young punks jumping up around the front of the stage. But 20 steps back, you could stand politely with the moms and dads strolling their kids around this indoor amusement park (now long torn down). Very bizarre gig. Weller's anger manifested in an amazing performance, as I remember. I'll check out this recording. Thx!
RispondiEliminaThanks for the share.
RispondiEliminaEnglish man here. I was at March 6th gig in Park West. It was broadcast the following Sunday by WXRT radio station on the King Biscuit Power Hour. I had a cassette recording of this until about 15 years ago when some pillock nicked it in London.
RispondiEliminaGreat gig, and as an English man and Jam fan abroad, it was wonderful to meet the band. Paul was thoughtful and polite.. Bruce tried to chat up my (beautiful) American girlfriend, the cheeky blighter.
Great gig. Paul Weller's Dad invited me and my girlfriend to chat with the three lads after the gig.
