2: down by the river 15:03
3: all along the watchtower 8:16 *
piece of crap
4: Farmer John 3:25
5: change your mind 15:04 (with radio outro)

runtime: 50:16 (minutes/ seconds)

this Superstars program also included a few more songs from earlier Farm Aid Neil sets, but this only includes (all of) the 1994 part of the broadcast which is one of Neil's best of many at this event. fine performance throughout, especially down by the river and change your mind. homegrown and piece of crap were not included in this broadcast. too bad they didn't air all of it, but you get the best of it here. you only get one song from "sleeps with angels" here, because of omiting piece of crap from the broadcast, but it is probably the best song on the whole album, and far too rarely played live. all the other songs are complete. there is some radio static in parts, but barely enough to even notice it, it never gets loud, and it is a stereo recording.

Comments:
This club show was roughly an hour, and a lot of fun. I remember being unable to get tickets and went down and listened to the show through an open door ... not the best concert experience, but I was glad to be there. This gig continued the Stones' proud tradition of doing a brief club show or two prior to launching a tour (the first date of the tour was in Chicago on September 23). It must have been a blast to be one of the 400 or so people inside. I think tickets were about $15 each.

In terms of sound quality, this sounds great. It blends the immediacy of a board with the ambience of a club show, so you really do feel like you're in a small room with the Stones.

Third Eye Productions.
The first two songs get off to a rough start, likely due to technical problems, as there is audio but no film/picture so a still photo is used. There is occaisional obstructions from fans blocking the view at the start, but overall mostly steady picture and great color and sound.

French host Guillaume Durand, a long time fan, was really happy to welcome David Bowie on the set of his show. The performance of the seven songs was brilliant and most of the talking, despite a few translation problems, was very interesting. The idea was to have other artists on the set, maybe not all Bowie-connected, but all fully aware of DB's music. Among them were Damon Albarn, Air and Francoise Hardy.

The duet with Damon and DB is a real slice of history. "Fashion", on that special night, sounded more modern than ever! The chat between David and Damon was also great and David insisted on the fact that he considers "Think Tank" as one of the best albums of the year.

Francoise Hardy, a very famous singer during the sixties/seventies and now a living icon, was delighted to finally meet David. She'd been saying for the last fifteen years how much she loved him as a songwriter, singer and performer and was now able to meet the man in the flesh! David also seemed very happy and even more when she said "Outside: was her favorite album. She had also worked with Damon and Blur in the past.

Air played "Another Day" from their next album, out early next year (2004) and also had an interesting chat with David. He's been aware of their work since the magnificent "Moon Safari" and confirmed he couldn't wait to hear the new album.

Other artists "on" the show were Moby (live from New York, telling nice things about last year's (2002) US tour), Dandy Warhols (rehearsing for the tour they sent a video message from LA), Too, Many DJs and Mick Rock, live from London, who talked about his "Moonage Daydream" book with our man.

The chat did include some fantastic moments (even though Davif couldb't always hear the questions properly) among them the bits about Salvador Dali and Elvis Presley.

- This is the complete Trafic.Musique show, with some non-Bowie content (Air).
- Quality is superb, much better than other versions of this show available.
- The title is "Traffic" on the artwork, so it is the same here.

Notes:
I’ve been meaning to work on this for some time now. I got both of these from the tapers and was asked to make a matrix of the two. The ALD is a nice supplement to the audience recording that would be great on its own, as the ALD was recorded a little low. But the ALD gives the vocals a nice boost and the sound more full! There is a few spots of static throughout the recording from the ALD, but there are 5 tops. I had to remove the last 3 minutes of the ALD from the matrix because there was some really bad static. Like I said, the ALD is just here to supplement and I think ijwthstd's audience is great as its own. Good performance and the last show of the US Tour. Thanks for ijwthstd and anonymous for sending over their recordings!

Johnny Winter - 1970-09-17 - Chicago, IL (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

Johnny Winter - Electric Guitar, Vocals
Rick Derringer - Electric Guitar
Randy Jo Hobbs - Electric Bass
Bobby Caldwell - Drums

Set List (about 60 minutes):
01.†guess I'll go away
02. good morning little schoolgirl
03. rock'n'roll hoochie koo
04. it's my own fault
05. highway 61 revisited
06. johnny b. goode

medley:
07. mean town blues [a small cut in the first minute, almost unnoticeable; with slide guitar jam]
08. walking blues
09. mean town blues [conclusion]

source: excellent soundboard recording for this vintage (of course it does not match nowadays standard), with minor flaws on the second half of track 4 and on the first half of track 5.

This recording is mostly known only as on the tile and it is the same presented on the bootleg CD "White Lightning". On the bootleg cover is stated that the venue was Aragon Ballroom and the date is September 25, but I'm not sure. The sound on the bootleg is too much compressed & edited to hide the hiss (indeed from a high generation tape copy), not to forgetting it has many cuts - it's only 54 minutes long. The sound quality of this torrent is far superior, from a much lower generation tape. From now on, your copy of "White Lightning" becomes useless.

This is a reseed of Return to Forever in Stockholm 1972 recorded about a month before they waxed the "Light As A Feather" lp. The band is without vocalist Flora Purim but includes "Noon Song" not released with this lineup, and a great improv intro to "Matrix". The show originates from a FM Broadcast and the sound is so nice as The Tooleman performed his magic. My introduction to (and favorite era of) Return to Forever, I could listen to these guys play all day! Many thanks to the original recordist and seeders who have kept this rare one around for decades, and as always your comments are appreciated!

Notes by the uploader:
I remain uncertain of the date for this set. The date as I recieved it was April 1973. Track 1, the MC pronounces: "Okaaaaay. Direct from a return engagement at Mrs. Hull's Boarding House, here they are, Little Feat". In FeatBase there are no entries for San Francisco or The Boarding House in 1973, and particularly not the night before this date which is occupied by a date at another venue. Featbase lists the following dates for Richard's in Atlanta: Sep, 17-20, 1973 and Aug. 22-24, 1974, and only one date for the Boarding House in San Francisco: 6/1/1976. However, this set matches perfectly that given for Torrent #139289, and is the only one of the dates for which a soundboard recording is known to exist.

The tape is a cassette (Dolby-C) safety copy of a the master reel. I was informed that the reel was no longer playable so this is probably as good as it gets.

Notes:
Brilliant sound recording...Johnny's rants are hilarious. A true testament of a band that had their shit together even though the world around them thought they were just loud-mouthed yobs. Sounds like there's a riot around the prison, but the crowd are thoroughly enjoying seeing the Pistol's live.
