The early show is largely the 2nd gen Steve B. recording complemented with bits and pieces from Recorder 1 (Nigel B.) (first 2:27 of Speak To Me). This seems to be very much the same thing as their initial offering on Sigma 166.
The main draw in this release is the Mike B (master?) cassette. See picture. I thought this was recorded by Derek A. Perhaps this is just a great low gen. This is also known as Recorder 1 for the late show. It might not be the most obvious upgrade but it's definitely longer and has bit more clarity, to my ears anyways. There's a repaired channel in Breathe (Reprise), I'm sure there are a few others too.
