This is a nearly complete master tape of the 'Thick As A Brick' show at the Münsterlandhalle, Münster from 8.3.1973. After Erwin offered his recording for a transfer & mastering, it was great to find out that he set the tape flips nearly perfect and not very much of the concert was missing. Before working on the recording, I researched other recordings of the gig and finally had four of them in my studio that I got from from various tapers/traders. After comparing them it was obvious that only two different recordings exists: this one plus another one in lower quality that also has the end of the show missing. A few (about three) seconds at the beginning of 'Aqualung' were taken from an about 1st gen. tape of the other recording to have a fill for Erwins tape flip. You'll probably hear this, but anyway: the fill is from the same performance and very short :-)

Not very much mastering was done. Some timepitching (tapes were running a bit too fast), then I balanced the levels during the spoken parts -as some of them were rarely understandable- and did a very slight and careful equalizing in the middle range only. Some microphone noises were repaired as well.

Not much to say on the performance: this is a complete 'Thick As A Brick' show, so expect Jethro Tull at their high peak in the sense of performance levels. The complete masterpiece album including rabbits, news, wheather and other pythonesque stuff plus some rarely performed (and then even unreleased) tracks like "Left/Right", "Audition", "Rehearsal/No Rehearsal". Maybe not the best, but at least a great recording from this era!
