Comments: Here is a show from the Steven Wilson "We're not playing seated venues" tour. I enjoyed the show from the 2nd row of the Loge section, which of course was seated. I had a great vantage point from up there, and I sat on my ass for the entire show. Fortunately, we missed out on the six minute speech on why he hates playing to seated audience, but don't worry....Mr. Wilson had plenty things of preach about. He's not short of opinions and he's not afraid to tell you them. Don't get me wrong, I love this guys music. I've been a die-hard fan since my first Porcupine Tree in 2002 (and I had been listening to them even prior to that). I just wish he'd cut his sermons down a bit. Some of his tid-bits were humorous, but a lot of them seemed condescending. No need to have a six minute introduction for a three and a half minute song. I saw him twice in the spring, and the Boston show where his commentary was shorter because of a tight curfew, just flowed better.
Anyway, the music played was great. I had full view of the visuals where I was sitting, but unfortunately they were cut back a bit, as there was no front of stage curtain to project the holograms to...they were just displayed on the large screen at the rear of the stage. Sound was extremely loud, maybe the loudest concert I've ever experienced. I'm writing this nearly 24 hrs after the show and my ears are still ringing. The loud sound was crisp and clear, except sometimes the highs were so high they sounded distorted, but it may just be my hearing. I like that he is mixing up the set a bit. I think this was the first "Index" of the tour.
