Notes and comments:
Recorded from the lower bowl - side stage
I'd first like to thank the taper for sharing this gem with me! I first saw Bon Jovi on the Because We Can Tour in 2013 in Louisville. This show was the night before mine, and with Paragon so difficult to contact, I fear I'll never get a chance to work on the show that got me into trading live music. This is also the fourth to last show Richie played with Bon Jovi. I'm giving my all to this one, because even though it has it's complications, this tour is dear to me. Speaking of complications, the show kicks off with a glitch, as the sound system messes up just as the band is ready to kick into the first song! I don't like to spoil the setlist in my reviews, so in general, the first several are generic. In track 8, the harmonies really ring clearer than most shows, and Richie and David are really showing off. Phenomenal vocal work! Also, holy mother of god, Richie is showing off those "Aftermath of the Lowdown" guitar skills on KTF. It was well-known that Richie didn't really want to go on tour to support What About now, and upon leaving the band after the March 17 show in Lubbock, Texas went on to work with Orianthi and form RSO. But after We Got it Goin' On in St. Louis, Richie seems to have the old 2003 KTF energy back (at least, it seems that way to me) kickin' ass on both of his solos, and opening it up for David and Bobby to follow up with fantastic jams of their own. In the words of Paragon, "this is the first time I've really enjoyed Bobby's work with the band." I have done no fades or splitting to accomidate burning discs, as to avoid disrupting the live experience. If you would like to, I suggest beginning disc two after track 15. Keep the Faith is a much cooler disc transition, but the length of the show and where KTF is placed in the setlist makes that impossible.
