Comments: This was originally sourced on the fantastic, now-defunct "longliverock" torrent site about ten years ago; the quality is exceptional. I have long wanted to post it to DIME, but found that one of the archive DVDs I saved it on was corrupted, so I had to wait until a month or so ago when it was re-shared on the "electric ladyland" site for me to get a new copy. Hopefully this one will find a new audience on Dime; the quality is really outstanding -- if you are a fan of this era of The Who, you will definitely want this.
In terms of performance, the band had lost a little steam at this point of the tour; the early dates were all well over three hours and featured an eclectic mix of rarities and hits. By this point of the tour, the set had shortened to a little under three hours (still a generous length, for this band) but the "Tommy" set had been trunctated and the rarities were largely eliminated. There are still a few nuggets to make this interesting for the long-time fan -- "Mary Anne" makes its appearance early in the second second set, and the unusual "Pictures of Lily" shows up in the encore. Though the setlist is relatively conservative, the performance in their final show of three nights in Atlanta is great.
Again, purists may argue that this isn't the "real" Who, but this one is still pretty good, and well worth having for the most casual or hardcore Who fan.
