In July and August of 2002 the Rolling Stones holed up at the Masonic Hall in Toronto to rehearse for their upcoming "Licks" world tour. Prior to hitting the road they played a surprise gig at the Palais Royale in front of 800 lucky fans who paid just $10 each for tickets. This show marked the first time "Don't Stop", "I Can't Turn You Loose," & "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" were ever played live. These songs were destined to become mainstays during the tour that followed. Other gems performed were "Sad, Sad, Sad," "If You Can't Rock Me," "Stray Cat Blues," "Hot Stuff," "Torn and Frayed," and "Heart of Stone."
This is possibly the best sounding ROIO from this tour. This disk is another one from my collection of original Sister Morphine releases. Sister Morphine is a Stones only CD-R label. This show was released on a Mitsui Gold CD-R. This show was also released as the following: Can’t You Hear Me Knocking (Vinyl Gang VGP-319), Clubbing In Toronto (RS Records 16082002), Fifteen Kicks-Secret Club Gig (160802), and The Rolling Stones Rock the Palais (Phoenix 03). This is probably a remastered version of one of those releases. It's been said that the tape was leaked by someone at the venue.
