Second Porcupine Tree's show I recorded this year. Sound is excellent, comparable to previous Warsaw show, maybe a little bit more clear and less bassy. Both shows are the best recording I have ever made and both shows were great.

02. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
03. Interstellar Overdrive
London 1969-05-12:
04. Granchester Meadows (Daybreak)
05. Cymbaline (Nightmare)
06. Green Is The Colour (The Beginning/Beset By Creatures Of The Deep)
07. The Narrow Way
Notes by the uploader:
Continuing my never-to-be-quenched thirst for vinyl, here's a great offering from the European anti-CD label Sodium Haze Records. Pressed in perhaps batches of 50-100 pieces (correct me if I'm wrong there), your chances of snagging one are very limited... you'd better not blink or it will go away. Side one features three tunes from the "Rome Goes Pop! program(me): Astronomie Domine, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, and Interstellar Overdrive. The first two tracks are sourced from a VPRO-FM radio rebroadcast on 1988-04-29. The third track is an audio rip from the television broadcast on ARD TV (West Germany) from 1968-05-18. The quality is simply stunning. Side two is pre-FM sourced from the program(me) John Peel's Night Ride: Granchester Meadows (Daybreak), Cymbaline (Nightmare), Green Is The Colour (The Beginning/Beset By Creatures Of The Deep), and The Narrow Way. The last track is of mention as it contains vocals. For those of you unfamiliar with the extra titles, these tracks were performed on the road during 1969 as part of a concept piece "The Man and The Journey". The versions presented here are notable for their differences from the normal concert routine. The sequence of songs on this album are simply superb.

-John Hammond opened the show
After hearing of the passing of the great J.J. Cale, I rooted around the tape cellar and found this one. I sniffed around the net and noticed that this recording has been unleashed before. This version comes from a copy off the master DAT. This show was recorded for public radio broadcast and only a portion of the show aired. Enjoy.

Notes:
For anyone who thinks that the "Shout To The Top" 4CD set of "The Rise And Rise of Ziggy Stardust" is the shit when it comes to Bowie's BBC-sessions, think again. These three silver disc bootlegs have been produced directly from the master tapes compiled in preparation for the aborted "Bowie at the BEEB" 3CD-set set to be released on the NMC-label in the mid-nineties. The STTP-discs simply took these recordings, replete with all clicks, pops and sector boundary errors, and then boosted them by 5db... In this torrent you can find the original recordings, with most clicks & pops and all SBE's carefully removed and with no unnecessary "hard limiting". As a bonus, the discs contain a set of demo & studio recordings from 1967-1969 which have been doing the rounds on numberous bootleg CD compilations but nowhere sound as clean as they do here (they are seemingly taken directly from the master tape also used for the vinyl bootleg album, "Little Toy Soldier").

15. PETER ALBION/DAVID CROSBY/GRACE SLICK...
The Monterey Pop Festival was held June 16 - 18, 1967 at the County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California, also the site of established folk, jazz and blues festivals. It was the first large rock festival, with around 200,000 people attending, and served as a template for the Woodstock Festival in New York State two years later. Many of the performers got their first big-time exposure at Monterey.
Great production for the Italian Bootleg label "On Stage", made in the 1994.

Thrash at its finest. Setlist is a nice sampling of their impressive catalog, going all the way back to the early 80's for Mechanix.
The mix for the 1997 show sounds a little off.
Marty's guitar and sometimes Dave's voice are low in the mix, not much I could do about that. I did my best to remove the dj talking, they talked right up to (and sometimes over) the start/end of songs.
The Westwood One #10-21 discs had several officially released tracks which I have removed:
Countdown To Extinction, Ashes In Your Mouth (12/4/1992) and Tornado Of Souls (2/25/1995)
Part of 2/25/1995 is released on "Live Trax" live EP, and all of 12/4/1992 is on the deluxe reissue of Countdown to Extinction 20th anniversary bonus disc Live at Cow Palace. All tracks here are not officially released.

- Tracks 14,15,16 from 'Lost Masters XVI', LOVE 016
Track descriptions:
01 Contains a different Springsteen vocal overdub and a very long, extended jam ending.
02 This track has the original Van Zandt background vocals.
03 Slighly different version / mix.
04 Unedited, contains an entire extra verse (about Bruce’s dad) that was cut from the officially released version.
05 One of his finest studio performances. For some bizarre reason Springsteen & The E Street Band re-recorded the song in 1995 and released that re-recording on 'Greatest Hits' – but it pales in comparison to this original.
06 Different mix than on the one released on 'Tracks'.
07 Bruce borrowed the first two lines from Chuck Berry’s song “Bye Bye Johnny” (as well as the play on the title), which is why it’s registered as a Springsteen-Berry composition.
08 Originally recorded for "Darkness", and recorded again here, this was considered for the 'Greatest Hits' collection but was finally dropped.
09 Full, unedited version that includes lyric changes and the complete raucous ending. This track runs nearly a full 1:30 longer than the released version.
10 Slighly different version / mix.
11 A bit longer version.
12 Beautiful keyboards by Danny and Roy augment some fine acoustic guitar playing by Bruce.
13 Presented in best-ever quality, this unreleased gem far eclipses any current circulated versions.
14 Unreleased studio outtake.
15 Wonderful tune with a killer chorus - note the bass line similar to the Human Touch B-side '30 Days Out'
16 Short but energetic rocker.
* 'Thrill Hill West' is Springsteen’s home studio in Los Angeles (aka 'Hollywood Hills Garage Studio').
* Most band tracks are E Street Band backing versions from so-called “electric Nebraska session”

Disc Two (2) details:
Recording details:
- Track 1 recorded at The Hit Factory, from the April-June 1983 sessions.
- Track 3 PROBABLY recorded at The Hit Factory during Jan or early Feb 1982. May be from later.
- Track 2 recorded at The Power Station, April or May 1982.
- Track 4 recorded at The Hit Factory, June 16, 1983
- Track 5 recorded at The Hit Factory, May 5, 1982.
- Track 6 recorded at The Hit Factory, April 20, 1983.
- Track 7 recorded at The Power Station during April or May 1982.
- Track 8 recorded at The Hit Factory, Feb 1982.
- Track 9 recorded at The Hit Factory, June 13, 1983.
- Track 10 recorded at The Hit Factory, April or May 1983.
- Tracks 11,13 recorded at Thrill Hill West, August 1982 through April 1983.
- Tracks 12,14,16 recorded at Thrill Hill West, January through May 1983.
- Track 15 recorded at Thrill Hill West, January 4, 1983.
Source details:
- Tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6 from 'Murder Incorporated', FR03
- Track 7 from 'This Hard Land', BS2002
- Tracks 9,10 from 'Lost Masters XIX', LOVE 019
- Tracks 14,16, from 'Lost Masters XVII', LOVE 017
- Track 12 from 'Lost Masters XVIII', LOVE 018
- Tracks 15,11,13 from 'Lost Masters XVI', LOVE 016
- Track 8 from 'Lost Masters IV', LOVE 004
Track descriptions:
01 The original mix without the new (90's) vocal track or the overdubbed second guitar on 'The Essential BS'. One of my favourite tracks, too bad the sound quality is what it is.
02 Different mix permutation of the same core recording as #1.
03 Completely different recording than the released 'Cover Me' done in a dramatically different arrangement.
This may actually date from a later period in the sessions than the original 'Cover Me'.
04 Same core recording as on 'Tracks', but has a much longer fade out (very nice) and features Steve Van Zandt on background vocals and guitar.
05 Different mix permutation of the same core recording as #1.
06 Different mix than on the one released on 'Tracks'.
07 Includes slightly different lyrics and an alternate beginning and ending.
08 This song was given to Donna Summer, who was recording an album at the time at the same studio. Summer’s cover version (with Springsteen on guitar) was recorded in March 1982 (released Aug 82). Bruce and Donna also recorded a duet vocal version at her sessions – it remains uncirculating.
09 Original mix with the saxophone track (deleted on 'Tracks').
10 Features Ruth Jackson on background vocals. Possibly recorded at the same session as 'My Hometown' (which also features Jackson).
11 By far the definitive version of this song – contains an additional, important lyric verse that has been cut from all the other versions.
12 Brilliant song that developed from a 1981-82 work-in-progress composition called 'James Lincoln Dear'
13 Unreleased studio outtake.
14 Unreleased studio outtake.
15 Compelling song. Features a dark, brooding beat that mirrors the disturbing nature of the lyrics. A nice vocal performance here and we're left wondering what possessed him to write this one.
16 Add this to the ever expanding list of Bruce's greatest unreleased songs. A man surveys his life and wonders if he can ever escape the demons of his past.
* 'Thrill Hill West' is Springsteen’s home studio in Los Angeles (aka 'Hollywood Hills Garage Studio').
* Most band tracks are E Street Band backing versions from so-called “electric Nebraska session”

Comments:
A bootleg for all the collector beyond us who always wanted to have as much as possible obscure and rare recordings on one CD. "Archangel Rides Again" is the "small brother" of the rare and expensive "Archangel" double vinyl bootleg. Some new songs can be found on the CD but also a lot has been left out to make a single CD. Just compare with the help of the text file. The booklet of the CD is also really cool. Lots of rare pictures and also a nice text. Released somewhere in 1992 or 1993, supposed to be made in Italy.

This is a GREAT sounding (A+) recording of SRV & DT at the Jazz Fest. in New Orleans. I'm not sure if this is still rare, but at the time I got my CD, it was fairly uncirculated. My copy came from my friend CM who had a relative that ran the mixing board from which this tape came. Some of the ID markers ma not be perfect, but feel free to retrack it if you wish. All credits for the availability of this one go to CM. I just transferred my copy to share with you good people out there.

Legendary rockers Led Zeppelin played a tour during spring of 1969 that took them on a whirlwind through Scandinavia and included stops in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Their sets were recorded for live to air broadcasts and the best tunes from those two gigs are now collected together by Stylus for this limited edition 12" on white wax. The Zep' were always stunning their audiences with their storming versions of their well known album tracks but on this tour they hadn't yet dropped their debut album. That didn't stop the crowd going wild at the soon to be hits, all lovingly digitally remastered for this collection
