This is the first known Santana recording. Still in the first line up of the Santana band, so no Michael Shrieve, Chepito and Carabello, who joined the band early 69. You hear Santana in its early rawness. The band only performed in the Bay Area those days, sometimes several days at the same venue. A great background story is to be seen in the BBC documentary Angels and Demons, that was broadcast in June and is on YouTube. really essential watching if you're a fan.
