I was at this show. I'm not a huge Chris Rea fan, but I have enjoyed his work over the years and a friend persuaded me to go along. I'm glad I did - it was great. The intimate Lyric Theatre mode of the Entertainment Centre was perfect for an artist like Chris. Maybe 1500-2000 or so people, very laid back and the sound mix was impecable. Radio station 2DAY-FM presented the show and while I was aware that they were recording it, I have a feeling it was never actually broadcast ( I really don't know - I've never been a 2DAY listener). Anyway, in '87 I was still working in the industry and called in a favour with someone at 2DAY who provided me with a cassette copy from the unedited station master tape (pre-fm??).
About five years ago I transfered that tape to cd-r, so lineage would be...
Pre-FM master>cassette>wav>cdr>wav>flac
No eq, noise reduction or any audio enhancement has been applied. Track splits were done with CD Wave Editor.
I've only traded this with a couple of people - once with a fellow Aussie and another time to a really nice chap in the States. I don't know how widely circulated it's become, but I notice it's listed in the db.etree database thingy.
What we have here is the complete show, split over 2 discs. D1 clocks in at 62:15 and D2 at 60:39
