Buckingham & Nicks - 1970 thru 1974 - 'coffee plant' demos (STU/FLAC)

(Studio FLAC)

Buckingham Nicks - Coffee Plant Demos

As you can see, the songs have more than one version. The only differences I can discern between
the versions are which instruments are brought forward in the mix, as indicated.

01. Without You (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
02. Nomad aka Candlebright (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
03. That's Alright aka Designs of Love (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
04. Garbo (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
05. Sorcerer (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal/No Drum Machine)
06. Cathouse Blues (Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
07. Goldfish and the Ladybug (Acoutic Guitar/Vocal)
08. Without You (Bass/Vocal)
09. Nomad aka Candlebright (Alternate Acoustic Guitar/Vocal)
10. That's Alright aka Designs of Love (Bass/Vocal)
11. Garbo (Bass/Vocal)
12. Sorcerer (Bass/Drum Machine/Vocal)
13. Cathouse Blues (Bass/Vocal)
14. Goldfish and the Ladybug (Vocal Only)

They are called the "coffee plant demos" because Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks used to record in the basement of Lindsey's father's coffee plant before they went to LA to get a record deal. However, I feel that it is a bit of a misnomer because we know Sorcerer and Garbo were written after the couple arrived in LA. Regardless, these are wonderful quality demos. While some of these were released later by Stevie or Fleetwood Mac, the gem Without You, the aptly named Cathouse Blues, and the quaint Goldfish and the Ladybug never made it off the shelf. Authorship is not documented in those cases, but although Without You may have been co-written, it is safe to say the others were penned by Stevie.

Queen - 1979 - Live Killers in Paris (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

venue: France, Paris, Pavillion de Paris
date: compilation of three night (Feb 27, 28 and March 1st)
quality: EX SBD
Lineage: low gen VHS (Using Sam sung SV-C633) > WAV (Using Sound Forge Ver 7.0) > Track divide up (Using Sound Forge Ver 7.0) > Burn CDR (Using Jet Audio) > CD Rip (Using Jet Audio) > WAV (Lossless Check) > FLAC

some site said this one contains only March 1st.
but it's definitely guess wrong.
I compared audience recording of the Feb 28 and March 1st with this.
at least, without doubt, this is 3 nights compilation.
but track order is just the same that March 1st show (though Typical medley, Love Of My Life, '39, It's Late, Brighton Rock, Keep Yourself Alive and usual 2nd encore is cut)

01. Thunderbolt And Lightning (intro)
02. We Will Rock You (fast)
03. Let Me Entertain You
04. Somebody To Love
05. Fat Bottomed Girls
06. You're My Best Friend

This is one of the earliest shows I have, though it is not clear exactly which show(s) are involved.  Per La Parra's book, the band did play a series of Christmas-in-June shows at McGonagal's in Dublin on June 7, 14, 21, and 28th, which were dubbed "The Jingle Balls".  I believe that is correct and the source for tracks 1 through 8 (one or more of those shows), with the full list of sources as follows:

1-8: June, 1979. Dublin, Ireland. McGonagals Pub.
9-10: October 3, 1981. Salford, England. Salford University.
11-12: October 3, 1980. Retford, England. Porterhouse.
13-15: March 15, 1981. Reseda, CA. Country Club.
16-18: December 13, 1981. Lido Beach, NY. Malibu Beach Night Club.
19: November 22, 1981. New York, NY. The Ritz.

FULL DISCLOSURE: There is confusion arising from a silver CD that Polar Bear put out later entitled 'Bono Works At McGonagals (catalog number PB-049, barcode 5 987325 549187).  According to AchtungBootlegs, and despite the title, none of those tracks come from any of the 1979 McGonagals shows at all.  Rather the sources are listed as:

(1- : Dublin, 26 Février 1980
(9-10) : Salford, 3 Octobre 1981
(11-12) :Retford, 3 Octobre 1980
(13-15) : Reseda, CA, 15 mars 1981
(16-1 : Lido Beach, NY, 13 décembre 1981
(19-20) : New York, NY, 22 November 1981

There are several reasons this is not the Polar Bear source.  First, the Dublin show on February 28 1980 was the big one at Dublin Stadium with Island Records in attendance, and following which the band signed there initial record deal.  I have a full recording of that Dublin show and the recordings are clearly not the same (Bono's intro to Cartoon World, for example, is different).  This recording obviously sounds like a club and nothing like a 2800+ audience, there are no comments from Bono as to the label/signing, etc which he made aplenty at that February 26, 1980 show.  There is also a difference in track time b/w the two of around 10 minutes and the fact that this came to me clearly as 'Bono Works McGonagals - June 1979'.

COMPLETE DEMO TRACKS OF "THE WALL" ALBUM

Recorded at The Floyd's Britannia Row Studios

(Sept-Dec, 1978 & Late 1979)
& Super Bear Studio(April-Aug 1979)
in France.

This is just like being in the studio with the Floyd!

This is the studio demo track they drawn on to record the final mix of their "Wall" album: every track IS a radically different unreleased version to the album's.

It includes loads of unedited mixes, never released tracks (merged into other songs), different lyrics, original sound collages etc ...

Without the full lush arrangements you get a good idea of what Roger Waters had in mind when he first conceived The Wall: a dry, alienating & beautiful descent into his tormented mind.

It is a real surprise is to hear the band as the original 4 piece experimenting like in "the good old days" with all sorts of different ideas that didn't make it onto the final mix for most: various synth lines, weird sounds, raw guitars, strange sound collages etc... One can appreciate the massive task of editing and changing most of these songs to fit on the double album we all know.

It is "The Wall" like you have never heard it before: just brilliant!!

12 Vocal 3/4 (Naminanu) 3:52
13 Chunkey (Me & Virgil) 6:24
14 Paperlate 3:38
15 Abacab (single version) 4:12

This new highland release is essentially the same as the bootleg "Abacab Complete" but re-sequenced to match the album track listing then putting the B-sides and odd tracks at the end. There's a lot of DNR as well (I don't know how this compares to the DNR applied to the first edition of Abacab Complete). For these reasons (and because Abacab Complete Second Edition is already uploaded here).

Notes by the uploader:
Continuing my never-to-be-quenched thirst for vinyl, here's a great offering from the European anti-CD label Sodium Haze Records. Pressed in perhaps batches of 50-100 pieces (correct me if I'm wrong there), your chances of snagging one are very limited... you'd better not blink or it will go away. Side one features three tunes from the "Rome Goes Pop! program(me): Astronomie Domine, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, and Interstellar Overdrive. The first two tracks are sourced from a VPRO-FM radio rebroadcast on 1988-04-29. The third track is an audio rip from the television broadcast on ARD TV (West Germany) from 1968-05-18. The quality is simply stunning. Side two is pre-FM sourced from the program(me) John Peel's Night Ride: Granchester Meadows (Daybreak), Cymbaline (Nightmare), Green Is The Colour (The Beginning/Beset By Creatures Of The Deep), and The Narrow Way. The last track is of mention as it contains vocals. For those of you unfamiliar with the extra titles, these tracks were performed on the road during 1969 as part of a concept piece "The Man and The Journey". The versions presented here are notable for their differences from the normal concert routine. The sequence of songs on this album are simply superb.
