Live broadcast

SB > (live) > BBC Radio 1 FM broadcast > unknown tuner > Aiwa F770 > TDK SA-C90 cassette master > Cassette playback on Pioneer CT-S550S with azimuth correction > Sony JE530 A/D (+5.5db) (44.1k) > Nomad JB3 > .wav > Adobe Audition > .wav > CDWAV > FLAC frontend > .flac files

(+ patches)

Note: The Sony JE530 is a minidisc recorder, however a pure digital output is available when using it as a "passthrough" device. Therefore, despite the presence of a minidisc device in this lineage there is no MD/ ATRAC compression.

Noise reduction setting on master cassettes were ambiguous. I am not certain that this was recorded with Dolby B OFF, however the tone seems proper using this setting

Patch source(s):
"sarsipp" : from http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/ - courtesy sarsipp:
No lineage other than "FM recording from Italy". However, this sounds like an FM master.
Respeeded x 101.03708364101154662525290321299% (slower)
Channels swapped.
Audio inverted.
These changes bring the sarsipp source VERY much in line with the primary source:
> Speed of both primary and sarsipp are stable
> Channels and phase of primary and sarsipp are identical
> Equalisation, volume and dynamic range are similar
> sarsipp source has other edits (between songs) *probably* designed to bring the total music time to under 80 mins
(in order to fit onto one CD).
> sarsipp source has unfiltered peaks at 16kHz (?) and 19kHz (FM pilot tone).
> sarsipp source lacks DJ commentary and is therefore not suitable for patch #2.
> sarsipp source has DIFFERENT version of Unfinished Sympathy and is therefore not suitable for patch #3.
