These tracks were lightly hiss reduced, EQed and volume adjusted to match the video source. All the encores and Forever are provided by the TG audience source. This had the bass slightly EQed and the recording volume adjusted to match the SBD sections.

The Pistols in fine form in Sweden. Note the amount of booze they drink. Really can't remember who gave this to me. He wasn't a trader just someone I worked with. That was about 12 years ago. The quality is what you would expect from a 77 Tv broadcast.

I recieved this in a trade without lineage, so I am not sure if there was a PAL to NTSC conversion, but it is not obvious if it was converted. the quality is very nice

FOR BADGEHOLDERS ONLY (Genuine Masters GM -LZ-23.06.23.1977-DVD-A-08)
Los Angeles Forum, Inglewood, California - June 23, 1977 DVD-Audio/Picture Montage
RUNNING TIME: 194:52
SOUND/SOURCE: Low Generation Mike Millard Audience Recording
PACKAGING: DVD Clamshell with High Resolution insert artwork

FEATURES:
Interactive Menus, Scene Selection, PCM Audio

Notes:
This will be the most desired version of this notorious concert. The show has been booted to death but Genuine Masters had the only reason to issue it again....a superior tape. For Badgeholders Only from GM utilizes an extremely low-generation Mike Millard recording and providing it in the DVD-Audio medium is the only way to hear it. Led Zeppelin collectors all hold this show in high regard, whether it was simply the impromptu appearance of Keith Moon towards the last third of the concert, the superior versions of Sick Again and No Quarter, etc...or just the magnificent recording. This is my 4th copy of this show and I was expecting GM to provide the definitive version when FBO was announced...and they, once again, have lived up to expectations! The recording isn't quite as striking as GM's "Watch And Listen To This Eddie", at first. However, it does expand as the tape/disc moves along. As with the Tarantura release last year, "Sgt. Page's Badgeholder's", it's the robust bottom end that is noticable...as well as the atmosphere around the taper. With this version of FBO, you REALLY feel right in the middle of the proceedings! While this recording doesn't quite have the spatial qualities as WaLTTE, this title really can be categorized as definitive. I cannot commend the label enough for it's selection and use of pictures for this project. Again GM has included some scarcely utilized or rarely circulated shots, along with a few of the common ones. The only deduction on the scorecard here is that there are no photos utilized from this concert! There are numerous pics of Keith Moon and John Bonham drumming in tandem and that would have made the package absolutely complete. A shame really. The rest holds up as you would hope.Another benchmark of the labels' expertise progressing, is the incredibly wonderful interactive menus. GM utilizes the Seattle '77 video in the background, while featuring various '77 images for the scene selection tabs. Everything looks so rich and colorful. A really stellar production throughout.

Notes:

This is an audience recording from the 03 Jul 2016 show in Milan, Italy. This was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Epic. And the crowd in Milan, without any doubt, is the best audience in the world.

The official live downloads have made audience recordings obsolete, but I decided to record this show for the fun of it. The quality turned out better than I expected. There's some crowd noise around me and some occasional close chatter and screaming. Thanks Javier for borrowing me the mics, David for the ticket and the good company, and Stefano for the assistance in editing this show.

I also included "Growin' Up" from the pre-show as a bonus track. I ripped it from a YouTube video.

This transfer fits on three audio CDs. Recommend disc separation is between "Death To My Hometown" and "The River" and between "The Rising" and "Badlands".

Enjoy,
Eddy

Review:
The first song of this show was Jokerman. It exists on tape, and there is plenty of room to have included it, so its absence is a mystery. The cover leaves a lot to be desired in my mind. I've never been a fan of Dylan caricatures... especially as unflattering of ones as this. The aesthetics are original... but too over the top. The set includes an odd bonus as well. The seven song encore was taken from the Crystal Cat release of the show from Sept. 16, 2000 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The first leg of Eric Clapton’s Journeyman tour of the US lasted over twenty-eight dates beginning on March 28th in Atlanta and was two weeks old by the time they came to Hartford, Connecticut for two nights. The first show in Hartford on April 12th was actually filmed and copies circulate. It is known mostly for the fun but generally lackluster playing and that Clapton and Nathan West wore UConn caps to celebrate the Huskies male basketball team who went 36-6 that year and went from unranked in the preseason to winning the Big East Regular Season and Tournament Championships, both for the first time.

A fair to good audience recording already exists for this date, but Beano debut a new, excellent quality audience tape. This comes from a DAT recording. On the original tape the guitars were emphasized in the left channel but has been remastered to be more centered. There is slight deterioration on the tape during the opening and the beginning of “Wonderful Tonight” but is otherwise in excellent condition.

Much is made of Clapton’s artistic decisions throughout his forty year career. Not content to play the role of guitar hero, he oftentimes subverted his ability to concentrate upon his singing, songwriting other and collaborations. However for this concert all that is set aside and throughout these two hours he ascends the heights to display his prowess as the archetypal rock guitar god and shows why he is the greatest guitarist in the world. Every song is attacked to the core and Clapton’s guitar solos take center stage completely obliterating everything else occurring onstage. It is for this reason Beano calls this show Ferocious. Nights like this are almost unheard before and this show stands one of the greatest Eric Clapton documents to ever be released and is an essential show to own in one form or another.

The opening is an orchestral arrangement of the coda to “Layla” before the band hit the stage with “Pretending.” Right in the very first song Clapton spits out a burst of energy that never really abates. Even the slower numbers like “No Alibis” shower the audience with rich emotion as if the guitar itself were shedding tears. “I Shot The Sheriff” lasts nine minutes long and is segued with “White Room.”

East sings “Can’t Find My Way Home” good (although not as good as Yvone Elliman did back in the seventies). The centerpiece of the set is a thirteen minute version of “Old Love.” “Layla” is the set closer and they play two encores, both old Cream numbers. The final “Sunshine Of Your Love” is a thirteen minute extravaganza featuring Clapton playing Ravel’s Bolero during the first solo, a keyboard solo, Clapton standing alone on the stage giving a guitar clinic, a drum solo before ending on a standard blues cadence.

Geetarz Comments:
In the fall of 1999, EC set off for a short tour of Japan, and as usual, put on some of his best performances for his Japanese fans. The Yokohama concert was beautifully filmed, and is represented here. Several versions of this broadcast exist. This one I received in trade in 2007 (in my pre-torrenting days), and represents an upgrade to the single disc version as the bitrate is higher. I would say it's perhaps a 20% improvement over the single-disc version.
If you have the single disc version, whether or not you need this version is up to you ... if you've a regular TV, you likely won't see any difference. If you have a large TV, you will notice the difference. Discs are authored with no menus and no chapter points ... please, no whining. They are presented as I received them, and if that ain't good enough for you, kindly move on. One can only hope that this broadcast sees official release at some point ... until then, here ya go!

Here is another sweet sounding japanese audience recording and a great show ta boot!! I love this tour... killer setlists! I wish they would play a setlist like this again but that wont ever happen imo. The tracking on this does not match the tracking on the Bootleg jaapanese release called: "Killing Power" but i think its the same recording.

SNIVLLE'S PRODUCTION NOTES:
I received a copy of this show from a great trading pal from the UK. As he'd told me before we traded, it was indeed one of the best versions of the show to have ever circulated. To find high quality copies of classic 70s QUEEN shows is very, very rare. After carefully watching the disc that I'd received from my friend a few times, I decided that there was enough picture quality remaining, underneath all the video noise, to facilitate a decent remastering attempt. It took close to 3 weeks of processing, remastering, revising, testing, and finally compiling, to come up with the finished product.

It is an unfortunate fact of "video-geek" life that there are only 240 lines of resolution inherent in VHS recordings. This number can obviously not compare to the more the 540 lines of resolution seen in commercial DVDs. The motivation behind all "Snivlle Remastered Edition" DVDs is not to compete with commercial DVD quality; rather, it is to get older VHS footage as close as possible to the quality of SVHS or Laser Disc.

(Video Noise Reduction)
The original VOB files were extracted from the source disc using DVD Decrypter. The VOB files were analyzed and indexed as a d2v file with DGindex. The VOBs were then frame-served with AVIsynth into Pro-grade NLE (Non Linear Editing) Video/DVD production software. AVIsynth frame-serving was used so that a few very powerful AVIsynth filters could be used on the footage without having to re-encode at this stage, or without having to create 100 GB uncompressed AVI files. In particular, the AVIsynth filters used were UnDot, CNR2, and Guavacomb. In combination, these filters eliminate multi-gen VHS anamolies such as 'dotcrawl', chromiance shifting, and over all chromiance noise. The nasty chroma disturbances are removed WITHOUT affecting the actual picture details.

Various video noise samples were captured and analyzed from the original footage. Careful video temporal de-noising was applied to remove a substantial amount of analog VHS noise and mpeg-2 artifacts. This portion of the video processing was carefully calculated to ensure that maximum results would be achieved WITHOUT disturbing the integrity of the original picture. I use the "NeatVideo" noise reduction plug-in in Highest quality/High resolution mode.

(Video Encoding)
Snivlle Remastered Editions are never mpeg-2 transcoded! All of my DVD projects are frame-served and encoded with Cinema Craft Encoder SP. The Cinema Craft Encoder is recognized within the DVD Production industry as the leader in high quality mpeg encoding. In order to maintain compatibility with a broad range of SA DVD players, bitrates are kept at 8000 KB/s or lower. I use standard (PAL) GOP settings (N=3/M=4), higher than average quantization settings, and tweaked picture quality parameters within the encoder itself.

PITREK EDITION NOTES
This is my "pittrek" remaster of the "Snivlle remastered edition" of Earls Court DVD. I have replaced his audio with a lossless source transfered from a low-generation VHS tape by frank39 (www.queenhouse.de). The video and audio were synchronised using Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD.

The 6 chanel ac3 track was also created in Womble. The subtitles are created from text files by SirGH (www.queenlive.ca) using SubtitleCreator.

I have also created new motion menus and compiled this DVD in DVDLabPro.

Or in basic words

I took the Snivlle remaster.
I thought it's great until I realised that it
1) contains ALL the bad editing errors (the repeating section during the rock'n'roll medley is a fine example)
2) contains AC3 audio

I have decided that I can do it better.
So I have taken Snivvle's set and the old YV DVD and the fantastic lossless audio from frank39.
Then I have corrected all the cuts by "shifting" the video on the timeline wherever it was necessary, which means after EVERY song.
On disc 2 there were 2 serious errors. First of all was the repeating section during the rock'n'roll medley. I have corrected it and filled a few seconds which were missing from the YV DVD.
The second "serious error" was the missing God Save The Queen track, so I have added it from YV's source, of course color corrected.
Also during the opera section of Bohemian Rhapsody there was only black screen, so I have replaced it with the heads from the official video, just like QP does with almost all their concert DVDs.
The video is synchronised with 2 tracks, one is a stereo LPCM track, the second is a 5.1 track, which was "upmixed" from the stereo track.
Also there is a subtitle track for Freddie's speech.
The bonus is all the footage we have from the second night.

Review from QueenLive.ca :
Queen capped off the A Day At The Races tour with two shows at London's Earls Court Arena. The band dropped ?50,000 on a new lighting rig, which was a giant crown on top of the stage. The music of Chopin (Freddie's choice) plays as the audience enter the venue. At this point, one can barely see the stage, as the crown is only a few feet above it, with black drapes below it, so you couldn't see anything on stage (perhaps causing audience members to wonder where the band will be playing!).

Procession is heard (revived only for the Earls Court shows, and never to be used again), and then the usual ADATR overture rings through the speakers. Part way through, the crown slowly begins to rise, and out comes the dry ice (the fourth picture above was taken during this moment; Brian later recalled that hearing the ADATR overture is when they would get nervous, as they knew they were about to go on at any time!). Queen then burst onto the stage to perform Tie Your Mother Down, and the show goes on as usual.

Tonight the band cover Elton John's "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting" during the Jailhouse Rock medley. Freddie apparently emerged from a trap door (sporting his dazzling silver lurex outfit) at the beginning of the medley, but the videos from both nights unfortunately don't focus on him during that moment. The whole band (especially Roger) are a joy to watch during the medley. At the end of the show, the lights continue to sparkle as the crown descends to its original position.

Freddie's voice is in pretty good shape tonight, but he has problems hitting a few of the higher notes, unlike the Bristol and Glasgow shows. You can feel a slight tension in the air; nothing like Hyde Park, but they (especially Brian) still seem a bit nervous at times. It has been said that this is one of the band's greatest shows, but we must bear in mind that the high quality of the recording has made us impartial to this one. Still, there are many incredible moments throughout. Brian's Brighton Rock solo is one of his best, and he really shines at the end of Doing All Right. Freddie puts in great performances of Doing All Right, White Man, and Gods Revisited. Hearing Roger scream in the background between songs is always fun to hear, not to mention the duck quack before '39, which is also heard in many other shows at this point in the set.

During this time period, Freddie wasn't heard singing "I see a little silhouetto of a man" on the tape of BoRhap's opera section, and it isn't heard on any audience recordings earlier than Richfield 11-25-78 - this leads me to believe that the opera section as heard on the video was most likely tampered with after the fact (bearing in mind that at one point the Earls Court shows were a potential official release). It has been suggested numerous times that they panned the idea because of Freddie's "microphone problems", but we must remember that all we've heard from this show is a video feed. Similar to the Hyde Park "echo" issue, what we are hearing is what was recorded from the video feed, not the soundboard mix, what was heard in the monitors, or from the audience.
