Here's an okay recording of Santana and good recording of the Final Night Jams. Read on to learn why the Santana portion is just "okay." This has been the most challenging upload I've ever attempted anywhere. I'll spare you the details, but know that it was really a pita (and that ain't no pocket bread!).
Just as a side note, while researching a CC for this upload, I learned that the Flamin' Groovies also played on the first night. I've never seen that portion of the show torrented (but keep in mind I'm a newbie to trading/torrenting), and virtually never even referred to. Perhaps it was commercially released.
First Disclaimer: Regarding the source/lineage, the only information I have is was what is on the artwork. In fact, that has been the case for several of my other FWC uploads. However, in this case, the information is particularly difficult (for me) to discern. I asked my wife, who has younger eyes than mine, to review it and she concurs with my conclusion.
Second IMPORTANT disclaimer (this from db.etree): "hi all, much to everyone's dismay, upon close comparison, the santana fillmore west 7/4/71 closing turns out to be a mix of shows. a portion is from the closing show and a lot of it is filled in from a winterland 69 fm show that circulated for a long time. santana was the only band that week in 71 that would not allow their set to be aired live. 2 songs were later released on the live lp and about another 30 min was broadcast in pieces later. they had no problem with the closing jam being aired since none of their material was performed. upon close listening, the mix and quality changes sometimes from song to song and the 2nd guitar of neal schon is only present on the real 71 tracks. some of the songs included on this set were actually dropped from the set list by this time. compare to other 71 shows and you'll see what i mean. also, mother's daughter isn't really on this cd copy going around. i'm sure this will start some debate. this kind of thing always does. dave t." So, the upshot of this is that the quality is not as good as my other uploads in this series. Sigh...

This collection was lovingly compiled from several painfully fragmentary soundboard tapes. I thought it would be fun to present the highlights of these tapes as a coherent setlist. Vinnie makes this band, as far as I'm concerned, and I kept his performances in mind when picking the versions to include. Sound quality was also a factor and it ranges from good to excellent. Some of these tapes seem to have been made while someone was fiddling around with multi-tracks, so there are anomalies in the mix here and there, but nothing too distracting. Remastering consisted of EQ, limiting & sometimes some compression to smooth out the mix. Only the Dallas tracks suffer from excessive noise reduction (unfortunately applied by the original surfacer). None of the performances on this set have been officially released. All in all, it's a nice companion to the official releases "Tinseltown Rebellion" and "Buffalo".

Place was about half full, I dont know whether they are just getting old or just going through the motions for $$$ but did not seem they were putting it all into the show.
The winwood set has chatter, as he started before the sunset I had to sit in what crowd showed up to not be noticed, the Steely Dan set I moved to my own section of lawn so it is mostly clear of crowd noise. It needed a volume boost

Sources:
"The Soul Cages Concert" LaserDisc, except:
(*) taken from "The Simple Truth" stereo FM broadcast 12May91
Details:
On May 9, 1991, Sting's concert in Den Haag was recorded and filmed for a future video release. During that show, after having performed Purple Haze, Sting invited his "tennis partner" Peter Gabriel on stage, to perform Games Without Frontiers. Sinead O'Connor then came to sing My Special Child, and Peter Gabriel came back to perform his hit Don't Give Up with O'Connor singing the female vocals (that Kate Bush sang on the studio version).
The appearance of Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor as guests was arranged in order to raise money for the Red Cross during a big charity event that was scheduled 3 days later, for the Kurdish refugees. This charity show was called "The Simple Truth" and reunited a lot of artists, some of them performing live in Wembley, others (like Sting) being represented by the broadcast of live performances filmed some time before.
On the evening of May 12, during "The Simple Truth" event (broadcast on TV and FM radio in different European countries), four songs filmed during the May 9 show in Den Haag were broadcast: the 3 songs with Gabriel and O'Connor, and Purple Haze.
In November that year, "The Soul Cages Concert" video was released in VHS and LaserDisc format. It featured most of the show performed in Den Haag on May 9, but curiously the appearances of Gabriel and O'Connor were not included.
The present 2-CD set is an extended audio version of the concert released in VHS and LaserDisc in 1991 (it has never been released in DVD), adding the 3 songs with Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor from "The Simple Truth" broadcast and injecting them in their correct place in the show, right after Purple Haze.
The original soundtrack from the LaserDisc was a bit dry and harsh, therefore a careful remastering was done in order to have a warmer, more natural sound. A dozen small audio drop-outs that were present on the LaserDisc were manually corrected (it can be noted that some songs from the concert were also available in CD format on various 1993 and 1994 CD singles, but they had the same drop-outs). Last but not least, a bad edit occurring during Why Should I Cry For You was slightly improved (this edit was apparently done on the video release in order to delete a part when Sting performed an extract from If I Were A Carpenter).
The 3 songs from the FM broadcast were also carefully remastered, in order to attenuate FM noise and avoid the "bassy" sound of the original broadcast. All FM broadcasts from these songs suffered from an annoying high frequency whistling that appeared at the end of Games Without Frontiers and lasted until the end of the broadcast. Notes by the uploader/trader:
I took a shot at prettying up Deadmarsh's torrent he put up recently. Spent 2 days futzing with it, and I think it came out very well. Mainly de-clicking (both automated and manual), mild eq'ing, correcting some track separations, and balancing some levels. I also did a little cut & paste work to correct what appeared to be a digital glitch at the beginning of track one, and an outright LP skip in the middle of Track 5. If you don't have the original to compare with, you'd be hard-pressed to find these fixes. Anyway, I do feel this is a significant improvement, not only with the click removal, but overall it sounds more powerful to my ears.

Notes:
12x12 inch boxed set, hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies, 200 more reissued in 1996.
Includes extensive liner notes by Dr. Rawk and Michelle Yow, and a sticker. 16 added tracks compared with LP version, unfortunately the sound is overall inferior compared to the vinyl set.
Fierce Pup VU fanzine says: "The legendary Searchin' for my Mainline was issued in a 3 disc box. The vinyl edition of this set, which features all live tracks from '66 to '86, has long been out of print. It was touted by many as the definitive VU boot. Its re-emergence on CD allows fans the opportunity to own some of the wildest, live VU ever recorded and a few oddities. While digital technology improves on the quality of the original vinyl, we're still dealing with some lo-fi sources here so don't expect miracles. The CDs' extented recording time permits the addition of many tracks not on the vinyl edition, although there is a glaring omission: Moe and Jonathan's I'm Sticking With You."

NOTES:
"Dallas/ b/w Sail the Waterway" (single) (Probe PRO 562) 1972 - This came from Demonoid, last year. I don't know who the uploader was. Thanks very much!
See: http://home.att.net/~rarebird9/steelydan.html
The first Steely Dan single was released in 1972, earlier the same year as their debut album. It contained 2 non-LP songs: "Dallas" as its A-side and "Sail The Waterway" as its B-side. The songs are easy to identify as Steely Dan works. Not all of the essential ingredients were together yet; both songs are just a notch or two above demo quality. Still, these are two reasonably appealing songs that gave a good hint as to what was ahead. In 1978, both songs were included (along with "Do It Again" and "Haitian Divorce") on the four-song EP Plus Fours (ABC Records ABE 12003).

In 1972, ABC sent out promotional copies of Steely Dan's first single, "Dallas" backed with "Sail the Waterway." It is unclear if "stock" copies were ever released to the general public, and if they were, the single sold so poorly that promotional copies are more abundant today (whereas the reverse is true for most releases). Neither song has ever been included on a compilation or album of any kind, or re-released in any form, with few exceptions: a 12" European EP titled "Plus Fours" - this 1978 EP features "Dallas," "Sail the Waterway," "Do It Again," and "Haitian Divorce." "The Probe Family Sampler" - released by Music for Pleasure in the UK - included "Dallas."
