Notes:
Recorded from Section E row 41 (Ronnie's side on the floor). My seat was supposed to be quite a bit further back on the field, but they upgraded a bunch of us to the front section, so I ended up being much closer than expected. Despite the threat of rain and that there had been storms earlier in the evening, the weather was perfect for the show. I just love the fact that these guys are still going strong and are capable of putting on a sold show that is very entertaining besides the fact that they are living legends. Catch them while you can, and you won't be disappointed.

Flew out to Phoenix from DC for these shows and ended up grabbing a last minute GA ticket from ticketmaster for the first show. Has a fair bit of crowd noise and the music isn't as well defined as night 2, but I still think it came out pretty well considering the location of the arrays.

The sound is excellent (to a point). We were lucky to be in an area that was not loud. Though you will hear the guy next to me offer me a drink during Fever - he was being nice LOL. However you will notice that Johnny fades in and out over the course of the show. Since our recording levels never changed the changing sound was due to the venue and the soundboard.

For the 2nd night I had seats on the side which I normally dislike but with the U2 sound system it was an improvement. After 3 1/2 hours of sleep and a long day at a work conference I was tired. Arena was 41 miles away and was supposed to meet a fellow taper who had my ticket between 7 and 7:30. Goal was to arrive early enough to eat and get set up by 6:30. Traffic was hell and finally resorted to side streets through San Jose. After 2 hours in the car dinner was obviously not going to happen so stopped for french fries and the use of the bathroom. I got to arena at 7 and got a text my friend was stuck in traffic. He arrived at 7:30 and rushed in to set up. Show started and both sound was improved and band was hotter. After Beautiful Day Bono changed things up and they went into a great version of Bad. Had to be the highlight of the show. During the encore Bono pulled a kid up on stage which was cool. All in all a nice recording of a fun U2 show.

Really nice, well shot DVD of a great Devils & Dust Tour show, dubbed with the IEM recording. If you want a guarantee of quality, while not an official JEMS release, the JEMS folks had a hand both the audio and video recording of this DVD. Note that the audio is the straight IEM (probably with some EQ, I don't recall), not the recently released IEM/AUD mix. It's no masterpiece but it is highly watchable, with Bruce in good humour in the penultimate show of the leg. With eldest son Evan on hand, there's a great version of Long Time Comin', and there's also a very atmospheric performance of Highway 29.

Bruce Springsteen - 2014-05-17 - Uncasville, CT (2xDVDfull aud-shot DL)

(2xDVDfull aud-shot)

Uncasville 2014-05-17 multicamera mix, dubbed audio, 2DVDs

The day the official "Don't change" video was uploaded to bs.net was the first indication that someone at Bruce's camp IS watching "fan generated content" as they call it.
Lots of friends and fans of my videos send me a message that day. "Olli, is this your mix? You're working for Bruce now?". No, it wasn't mine. I did a mix of that song before that and after the official bs.net mix I made a new mix but just with fan's recordings and the few pro-shot snippets from the official vid that suited the mix.
I didn't have the masters. Of course, my biggest dream would be to work with the masters and dig in that archive! I can't deny that. Which fan who hasn't the skills to do that wouldn't wish for that?
If it's going to happen or not: In any case, we, the tapers, the sharers and the people who speak up brought a big change to Bruce's release policy. Be proud people!

Bruce talks about the archival releases:
Serling asked: "What changed?" It was Bruce looking at YouTube and seeing fan-generated content from his recent shows, as well as archival stuff. And he was like, 'We can do better than this.
We own the masters!' What's great is, he wasn't saying, 'Fuck those guys. Take that stuff down. Screw YouTube.' It was, 'If this is happening, we should be doing it officially.'"

I hope they are not just talking and soon prove they can do better than LEEDS ;-)
Top notch audience shot footage with pro-shot footage mixed in: That is the way to go and creates the most authentic video document of a concert. Other bands do it, too. They have some of their cameramen inside the audience.

In any case: Hats off to everybody who recored videos at the shows and sent the footage to me and, of course, hats off to everybody who is involved in all the fantastic audio releases. JEMS in particular and hoserama who did the great MSG '09 mixes which for sure caught a lot of attention.
Toby Scott says Bruce watched and acquired some bootleg dvds and they read fan's comments and Toby Scott himself calls some official releases "less than spectacular".
Another hint for me that complaining is a good thing. Screw the people who always blame me for that. Maybe all the fan's views expressed on forums may be the delay for the River boxset and they learned from the "less than spectacular" releases in the past and now go that extra mile to make it a fantastic boxset?! Maybe just wishful thinking, maybe not!
You know my opinion about the official video releases (only good one in terms of sound, video and presentation: Hammersmith 1975). The others either have awful sound (Barcelona, Houston), are production wise a mess (like LINYC with a completely dull song order, lots of bad transitions and some of the best songs missing! this cannot happen on a dvd release even though the footage was originally intended to be a 90 minute HBO special), simply poor choices regarding which show to release (Hyde Park) or there's other big mistakes like on videos where you can hardly see a thing (Dublin) and videos where you really don't see a thing (D&D Boston).
It is really time to step it up. I have good faith for future releases and I really think we, the complainers and the moaners and the people who show what footage fans can create, are part of the change.

So, Bruce is open minded and opens the archives.
Follow the man's lead you hoarders. Get your stuff out. Don't sit on hundreds of IEM tapes and audio tapes and video recordings. It is always more fun to enjoy something together.
This Mohegan Sun night 1 video is another example of people keeping their recordings or putting stupid logos on it. This video is fucking awesome as it is but imagine how much better it could have been with additional pit footage from BlackLab, with MagikRat's videos without the annoying logos and with the other footage straight from the master and not from crappy youtube...
Also the soundcheck was IEM recorded. The whole show was. The official soundboard sounds pretty bad on both Mohegan nights (maybe that is the reason why they pulled night 2). But Bruce's voice was really not that bad those nights. The audience recordings by larryrulz and bossman show this.
I am pretty sure my friend the audio pro could have done a lovely IEM/AUD/SBD mix and I think under these circumstances Claudio would have let it slip and allow it to be uploaded here.
So people, think about it. Your videos are worthless when not multicam mixed and so are your audio recordings if you don't get them out, especially IEMs which need a lot of mastering and mixing with other IEMs and AUD sources.

On to the video:

Best USA video bootleg release that comes to my mind.
American skin...I watched it a dozen times already. Fuckin' A. Racing '78 style, Hearts of stone, The price you pay, Light of day, The ghost of Tom Joad and the four acoustic songs...phew!! What a show.

Bruce's dance with the woman in the front row (man, I forgot her name, I am getting old): Priceless. Please someone who knows her forward a copy to her.
Tenth Avenue freeze-out and Shout: Killer angles here ;-)

Small note: I didn't check the audio sync on the dvd version with AUD audio but the sound should be at all times pretty well in sync.

filmed by: dvddubbingguy and springsteenbrothers

additional footage by: larryrulz, Richy, John and some youtubers

First time I have been to the USA (not counting a tennis camp trip where I saw nothing but the tennis court). What a great trip!

What's my next upload? Padova. Then maybe Uncasville night 2 but only if Blacklab/ccliffy join in.
Still to come: Milano, Naples, all three Stockholm, both Kilkenny. But all give me headaches and are on hold because tapers don't share their audio or video recordings.

Note from Tapeboy: another good show, they played better, did some different songs, nobody fell off stage....

When Love Comes To Town is performed for the first time since 28 August 1993; it is performed in honour of the recently deceased BB King and at the end Bono paid tribute to him, remarking that "the thrill will never be gone". Miracle Drug is performed for the first time since 28 November 2005. Tour debuts by Angel Of Harlem, Bad, California, and One. A few times during the show, Bono made light of Edge taking a tumble offstage during the last song of the previous night's show. He referred to U2's controversial distribution of Songs Of Innocence with his quip that "Edge downloaded himself into the audience without permission".

JEMS marked its 34th year recording U2 by heading north from our home base to opening night show in Vancouver. The month of rehearsals at Pacific Coliseum definitely paid off as the band was better prepared than has often been the case on opening nights (see Las Vegas 1997).

Speaking to Tapeboy by phone last night, he was struck by how the show began with one powerful rock song after another, which drove the energy of the show high from the start. He also said the distributed PA that rings the arena did make for very good sound leading to something rare at indoor shows these days: it was loud.

The new material, not surprisingly, sounds more compelling from the stage, which in and of itself is said to be a marvel, save for its lack of safety railings (if you haven't seen The Edge's Instagram this morning, he is OK, save for a big scrape on his arm).

Biggest surprise of the night was "Desire." Brother Ken was also there, and he pointed to that song, "Bullet the Blue Sky," "Invisible" and "Until The End of The World" as his highlights; the latter closed "the first set," though plans for a more formal intermission were apparently abandoned. In its place were five minutes or so of videos that bridge from "Until" to "Invisible."

A typical SM show with the usual low vocal mix and too much clapalong led by Jim Kerr, who was struggling with a virus and was happy to allow the audience to take his place whenever possible. A reasonable recording from the right hand side less than 10 metres from the stage stacks.

Thought that I would revive the Nugent flood that was going strong about a week ago. Up today we have a show from the State of Shock tour. I would see Ted for the first time about a month after this show in Jacksonville, FL. All I really remember was how loud it was and that my ears were ringing for a couple days afterwards.

Syd Barrett - Wondering & Dreaming, Vol.2 (DVD 1) (DVDfull pro-shot)

(DVDfull pro-shot)

1. Look Of The Week – 14.05.1967, Source 2 (BBC 4 rebroadcast + different source of interview) HRV

This is latest rebroadcast by BBC. They again repeated famous 'Sound Of The 60's" show probably in 2007. Quality is very good.

Source for interview - Harvested DVD. I have 2 sources for the complete interview - Harvested and unknown VHS. I can't choose by quality, because they are very good, so i included botha.

2. Top Of The Pops (See Emily Play) – 6.07.1967, Reconstruction

BBC Lime Grove Studio, Shepherd's Bush, London, England.
Pink Floyd performed "See Emily Play" live for the first of three times on the music programme "Top Of The Pops". It was broadcast on BBC1 TV at 7.30pm
(c) Glenn Povey

After fantastic news, that lost footage is found, i choose to make slide show with original audio from this broadcast.
All pictures are taken only from first performance on this show, including screenshots from found video (Mojo article). Audio is rumored made by fan in 1967

3. Pathe Newsreel (Scarecrow) – filmed on 8.07.1967
3.1 Original Complete Pathe Newsreel (21-09-1967) HRV
3.2 Scarecrow (16:9 Version)
3.3 Pathe Complete Outtakes feat. Pink Floyd, HRV
3.4 Pink Floyd Outtakes, best quality

On 8 july Pink Floyd were reported in Melody Maker to be making a promotional film of "Scarecrow" for British Pathe News. Filmed in and around Marbury Country Park in Nortwich prior to their show that evening, the clip was then syndicated throughout the ABC cinema circuit in the summer 1967
and featured the band wandering through wheat fields and having a pretend shoot-out, whilst trying not to collapse into fits of laughter.

(c) Glenn Povey

Thanks again to guys from Harvested, who provided best to me this best quality source from VHS.
Other non-floyd footage taken directly from Pathe website.
It was great news somewhere in 2000's, that guys from Pathe
found in their archives uncut tape of all outtakes from this newsreel, including also floyd footage. This tape also presented here in full time (and source of floyd part is the same 16:9 version are taken from "Technicolour Dream" DVD, because to this day it was best ever quality (sadly, that not in 4:3!)
Outtake excerpts from "Which One Is The Pink" doco

4. Beat Club Mentions – 1967 to 1969
4.1 Hit Parade (22-07-1967)
4.2 “Reaction In G” audio from unknown source, 1969
4.3 Probably Pink Floyd footage, 1969

Sadly, Pink Floyd canceled their performance in Beat Club in august of 1967.

Here's presented interesting hit parade, nice document from summer of love era.
But then some oddities.

1967-08-01? Reaction In G tape used for the German TV b'cast
(Date is some what questionable as the entire band was on holiday
during the first 2 weeks of Aug '67 save for 2 recording sessions at EMI.)
Reaction In G excerpt was rebroadcast on Beat Club Episode #42
News 1969-04-26 (w/o voiceover) and then 1993-07-02 & 1995-06-05 (w/voiceover) -
"There was no show on 1967-08-01, Episode #22 is from 7/22 & #23 from 8/26. Uschi Nerke voiceover version was broadcast on Beat Club Episode #45
News 1969-08-02."

and final mystery: during beat club intro i found bit, and this guys in darkness
really looks like pink floyd...

5. American Bandstand – 7.11.1967
5.1 Complete (Apples & Oranges, Interview)
5.2 Excerpts without timecode

On 7-11-1967 Pink Floyd mimed to "Apples & Oranges" for the music programme "American Bandstand" hosted by Dick Clark, in which the band were also interviewed. It was broadcast (in colour) on the KABC network
Channel 7 on 18 November at 11.30am

(c) Glenn Povey

Okay, the quality isn't great and it still not only has that annoying timecode
that we've all seen before, but an additional slate towards the top of the screen. There is also a small black box in which I needed to remove an ID
in order to share this. But I still think its quite watchable and don't think
I've ever seen it complete like this, from Dick's intro (holding up the Piper LP)
through the end of the band interviews.

PS. Sorry, but actual gen info is unknown. I captured this from a VHS tape, probably 2nd gen.

(c) Ron Toon.

Nothing to say really after this!

Non timecode footage is from "Eight Miles High" Doco & Syd Barrett Story from VH1

6. Central Office Of Information (Jugband Blues) – filmed on early December 1967
6.1 Original Uncut Source with original audio
6.2 Harvested Remaster

6.4 “Seven Ages Of Rock” version

On 9 December members of Pink Floyd and their managers were reported in Melody Maker to be viewing a colour film clip of newly recorded "Jugband Blues" at The Central office of Information for inclusion in a cultural exchange
magazine programme. Widely available on the collector's market, this film was networked throughout North America and widely reported to be band's next single. The Recording date and location remains unknown.

1. First version is probably from NTSC master first gen VHS. This is video as this found - no editing, no audio redub. And mix from this original audio is absolutely unique and unknown.
Film was discovered in garden shed in 1999.

2. 2nd version kindly provided to me by Ron Toon, audio now is alright.

3. BBC version are here just for fun :)

4. And final version first broadcasted in 2007 by BBC in "Seven Ages Of Rock' series (part 2).

Mike Leonard have this footage in his private collection for many years and thankfully (BBC has wiped this) it was appeared in collector's circles.

Quality is absolutely stunning, only footage have timecode.

Rumours spreading that this is more and in best quality.. but where ?

notes by the uploader/trader:
Almost 4 years ago I decided to make first major DVD compilation of all Syd Barrett material's in circulation. The first set was called “Ultimate Collection” and “released” in 2009. Then later i updated this to Rev.A in summer of 2010 and then “Dope” footage appeared, so that was the birth of Rev.B :-)
But all is different now. You just need to left in can all my previous DVD’s, because this time I used non-compressed sources for this anthology, they are also more and more upgrades appeared last time. I decided to make the most complete picture, using all available sources (for example there was 4 versions of “Jugband Blues” with different audio and picture, 2 versions of complete “Look Of The Week”, because I can’t choose what’s the source is the best etc.)
This 3 DVD set covering the most important years in Syd and group history – 1966 to 1969. I also added 4th DVD as bonus with related material (for example, how more Floyd collectors actually seen original backdrop film from UFO & Roundhouse days called “Speak” by John Latham ?)
This compilation also related to HYGIY series.
I would like to thank all people who help me in this project: Pete M, Ron Toon (& Harvested), Captain Bronstain for his technical help & patience, Felix Atagong, Mark Jones for his wonderful covers.
