Notes:
Made our way down from a conference in Dallas for this one. Too close to not see another show! Recorded from a suite and it was a very nice experience with no hassle! May be some slight reverb from the audience tape I made coming from the back of the venue but still in line with the stacks and think it sounds pretty good with the Schoeps. Pretty much the same setlist as the other night in Vegas. John The Revelator was the highlight of the night for me. Some chatter during 'Sister of Night' but besides that, a flawless matrix. Really happy how these are turning out.

Notes:
First show of the North American Tour for me. Was a real treat to hear Sister of Night. Had not seen any of the setlist prior to this show. Weird to not see Andy up there. My Cosmos is mine is a very strong opening song of the show! Seemed like the fans were in to it from start to finish. Dave got a bit frustrated with everyone on their phones during the beginning of the encore. First time I had heard an outburst like that since San Fran 1994 (wasn't there, but heard the tape lol) He did sing happy birthday to a 13 year old on near the walkway, which was really cool. Tape came out excellent. Really happy how it all turned out.

Notes: simply one of the best audience recordings of the MFTM tour...

I used a high-end Nakamichi tape deck for these raw tape transfers, no compression, no equalizing, no dolby. In most cases these transfers are 100% what we have on tape including all the cuts, crackles, hiss and flaws, speed issues and distortions, clappers and talkers. In some cases I did some level adjust and removed cuts. Some of these tapes may have suffered over the last 25 - 30 years.

[7:22] Never Let Me Down Again (With Billy Corgan)

Total time: 1:02:40

A very good sounding soundboard recording.

"Sister Of Night", "A Question Of Lust", and "Enjoy The Silence" were performed as acoustic renditions. "A Question Of Lust" had only been performed one other time in this manner on the Singles tour, at 1998-12-09 Sacramento. You can find a recording of the band's soundcheck at 1998-12-02 Boise, ID where these acoustic versions are rehearsed here: 1998-12-02 Idaho Center, Boise, ID, USA/Source 2

Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins joins during "Never Let Me Down Again" to sing lead vocals and play guitar. The Smashing Pumpkins covered the song for the 1998 Depeche Mode tribute album "For The Masses".

I included an MP3 of a bit of relevant postshow radio chatter as the final track.

Unfortunately, this recording is inherently lossy due to MPEG delay used at both the soundboard and FM broadcast feeds for this concert.

According to a post by BRAT (official depechemode.com webmaster) on the fansite Home, both the soundboard feed and the FM broadcast feed were run through MPEG delay, causing MP3-like sound. The post is quoted below:

The disc I sent out to people was off the air.

I have a copy direct from KROQ's broadcast board, but it still sucks because BOTH the board feed, and the broadcast feed were run through a MPEG delay. MPEG delay (for any possible profanity) = crap, MP3-like sound.

The only good copy I have heard is the KROQ video that is on depechemode.com. All others are horrible.

Even if you knew people at KROQ (like I did), you could not get a flawless copy. It still had sh*tty artifacts through it. The only reason why my copy might sound better is because I was using a $400 Radio Shack antenna (hacked into a neighbor's antenna). ;)

NOTES:
The video is somewhat glitchy, but the audio is great. I believe this concert contains the first rendition of "Shake The Disease" since 1990. "I Feel You" suddenly stops after about 45 seconds of playing (backing tape issue?) and it takes the band a couple of minutes to resume and restart with "I Feel You".

An excellent FM broadcast. I used the following sources to complete this recording:

Source 1: dimenew's stellar sounding master tape of the original broadcast (Sony CHF60 master cassette -> Yamaha KX-493 tape deck -> Creative SoundBlaster AWE32 -> Wavelab 4.0), originally seeded on DIME around 2008
- provided the core recording
Source 2: Dutch broadcast of 7 tracks on April 21, 2005 recorded by Jerommeke (FM -> Sony MD313 -> Creative SoundBlaster Live!
- provided "Now, This Is Fun" and about 12 seconds at the end of "Photographic" through the beginning of "Told You So" since there was a fade on source 1 between these with missing music

NOTES:
The only complete FM broadcast of this concert. This may be the source for the "Badlands" bootleg, however the quality leaves much to be desired in comparison to the MP3 version of "Badlands" currently floating around. Perhaps this is simply a higher generation copy of the source used for that bootleg. This raw recording has many small cuts in the recording, but it is otherwise the only complete lossless recording of this night since it has the introduction for "Something To Do". The quality does not rival "Performance", "I'll Never Get Enough", or the MP3 version of "Badlands".

2013 is a great year for Depeche Mode fans. A new album, a world tour and a great setlist with lots of surprises (little joke - sorry). Lots of great audience recordings from the current tour have seen the light of day and many are still to come.

I used a high-end Nakamichi tape deck for these raw tape transfers, no compression, no equalizing, no dolby. These transfers are 100% what we have on tape including all the cuts, crackles, hiss and flaws, speed issues and distortions, clappers and talkers.
