Notes:
A great hits-filled show from Huey and the News in a hot as hell parking lot. This was a concert put on for RAGBRAI which is a annual bike ride across Iowa that brings all kinds of drunken and road hogging bike riders to our state every year. Why people put on concerts in a parking lot of a nice fairly new air conditioned arena in the middle of July is a mystery to me. I recorded the show and got the hell out of there.

unicrayon wrote in 2006, "This is an uncirculated [in 2006] version, I think there are others in circulation. An edited version has been played on FM radio (without the songs that were not yet released at the time), and the master may have been stolen at the radio station. I don't know about the other versions, but this one is very good! Some work has been done on the first track's level. The original recording started out much too loud, then went to low, so I worked on the gain to make it sound right (there's still a little distortion in the beginning, but I think it is unavoidable). Tracks 18 & 25* are two pretty long sections of enthusiastic crowd noise. I left them so you get the whole concert exactly as it has been recorded. For your listening pleasure, you may want to burn a CD without these two tracks. Tracks 11 & 12** (fade-out & fade-in) were added to make a more pleasurable listening experience at the end of the first CD and at the start of the second one. When listening on a computer or any media that can accommodate more than 75 minutes of music, you can simply leave these two tracks out, so you get the whole concert in one go."

BACKGROUND NOTES
Harrison had been accumulating the songs he recorded for the album as far back as 1966. One being "The Art of Dying". Harrison picked up several more songs in late 1968 while visiting Bob Dylan and The Band in Woodstock, New York. He and Dylan co-wrote "I'd Have You Anytime" and "Nowhere to Go" (also known as "When Everybody Comes to Town") at this time, and Dylan showed him "I Don't Want to Do It." All three songs were attempted at some point in the sessions for All Things Must Pass, but only "I'd Have You Anytime" made the album which he did not perform during this rehersal session.
He began writing "My Sweet Lord" while touring with Delaney & Bonnie in late 1969, and would later utilize their backing group "Friends" as an important part of the All Things Must Pass sound. He made one last detour before beginning work on All Things Must Pass, visiting Dylan while the latter was starting sessions for New Morning in May 1970, learning "If Not For You" and participating in a now-bootlegged session.

On May 27,1970, before recording the album, Harrison sat in a studio with Phil Spector and ran through fifteen songs on guitar, with occasional support from an unknown bass player. These demos (eventually bootlegged as Beware of ABKCO! due to an altered line in his performance of "Beware of Darkness") showed him in the process of weighing his material, as eight of the songs would be either substantially reworked or not appear on the finished album.
Among these early outtakes, three have been officially released in one form or another: "Everybody, Nobody" was an early version of "The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp", "Beautiful Girl" would be finished for Thirty Three & 1/3, and "I Don't Want to Do It" would wait fifteen years until being revisited for the soundtrack of Porky's Revenge. Five other songs, "Cosmic Empire", "Mother Divine", "Nowhere to Go," "Tell Me What Has Happened With You," and "Window, Window", have not seen official release.
Two demos of songs that did make the album, "Beware of Darkness" and "Let It Down" (with overdubs from 2000), would eventually be released on the remastered All Things Must Pass. Full discs of electric outtakes from the recording sessions would also leak on bootlegs in later years, and some of those tracks were also included in the remaster. Multiple takes of songs from the album appear on a bootleg three-disc box set The Making of All Things Must Pass along with other releases.

This demonstrates how talented George Harrison was and how much he was held back at the end of the Beatles. he was the first to have success as a solo performer even before Lennon and way before McCartney and the Wings.

11. Opened The Door
12. She Makes Me (Feel Alright)

Here is an excellent soundboard of Journey's third from last concert in Tokyo in 1979. They did three shows in Tokyo in 1979 (I've got them all). They played 1979-04-15, 04-16, and 04-18; so obviously this was the first night's show.

This show has some unique songs Journey didn't normally do live, and even if they did, we don't have other live recordings of the songs. They added both "Lady Luck" and "Can Do" to the set and put the songs in during the latter half of the show but before the ending songs.

This is a superb performance by Journey. There are a few flaws in the recording, but they definitely do not ruin the show. And this source I'm uploading is the very best one I've found. The high's are clean and clear unlike other copies of the show I've heard and the high's don't create the hiss associated with EQ'ing the tracks. It's my opinion that this is just a better source than other copies that have surfaced.

This is Journey in their prime. It was after they were known of and were on the radio, but it was also before they became superstars in 1981 with the release of their "Escape" LP. They're on fire and sound great.

01 - Red House (part 2)
02 - Put It Where You Want It
03 - Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
04 - Third Stone From The Sun

As Red House was already in two parts I used this gap to separate the two cd’r-s. For the covers I used and reworked pics from the great Japanese fanzine “Stone People” (issue #47).

As usual all the infos are taken from The Mick Taylor’s Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: http://www.nzentgraf.de/books/mt/taylor1.htm

For this show we had the CD n°2 from IMP-N-014 'Nasty Blues'-bootleg with very good sound (a radio broadcast) but incomplete: CYHMK is partial (only 3 minutes from the 23 minutes!), “Third Stone…” is missing and the frequency spectrum seems very limited (it's surely lossy).
Fortunately nzb sent me an alternate source, with a good sound and a better frequency spectrum, but it also had two defaults: a 2 minute gap in the middle of “Red House” (from 5’ to 7’ maybe a tapeflip?) and it runs too slow.
Because lossy files cannot be used on certain sites I dropped the idea to create a mix from the two sources for “Red House” and decided to do 2 versions for this show:
- Vol 09a with only nzb’s source reworked: it’s the version you have here
I upgraded nzb’s source by adding a little more bass and treble, re-equilibrated the channels and I used the IMP source to correct the speed (+1,68%).
- Vol 09b with nzb’s source upgraded and the IMP version reworked (transitions
between the songs): …..so a two sources version but with lossy & lossless files that can only be downloaded on IORR https://www.iorr.org/talk/list.php?2

During the winter months of 1969, Ginger, Eric, and Stevie were working out some musical ideas, which included some informal jamming at Eric's home in County Surrey (Hurtwood Edge). By March of that year, the boys were ready to do some formal studio rehearsals and recording, and congregated at the Morgan Studios in central London.

As we all know, the Morgan Rehearsal recordings are glimpses into the embryonic stages of Blind Faith's style of progressive rock music. To date, we have not found any authoritative written documentation or photographs of the boys rehearsing at the Morgan Studios.

Of course, there are many photos of what appears to be informal jamming and rehearsing, mostly during May 1969. By then, Ric Grech had joined to make it a foursome.

Some write-ups suggest that these gatherings occurred at Clapton's home, and in at least one other author's opinion, it is speculated that these later jams/rehearsals happened at a local village hall in Guildford, England. What a scene that would have been to witness!

Original Notes:
One of the earliest live recordings of the band, still known then as The High Numbers, the date and venue was finally cleared up with the release of the Anyway Anyhow Anywhere book after it had been previously attributed to the Marquee Club. It's a very rare glimpse from the period when they played primarily rhythm and blues covers and not original material.
