Show comments:
Don't see a whole lot of Agent Provacateur tour audience recordings and i only have a few and this one is by far the best. Play It Loud! I was fortunate to see this tour a little over a month later in San Diego and actually got to meet them (except Lou who was not feeling well) at the meet and greet and all of them were very cool, i still have my autographed LP of Agent Provacateur.

Van Halen returning to the venue where it recorded the famous 1981 videos. Pretty good show overall, seems like the band enjoys getting out there and playing. Roth's voice was a lot better than the last time I saw them in D.C., but is still a little funky. Roth's schtick is a bit odd throughout the night, from the weird stories, baton twirling, dogs, poses, etc; the dude has lost a few marbles along the way. But the band is tight and Eddie is great, right behind Jimi as the best ever. He did flub a few notes, most notably the intro to "Women in Love" but overall he is a marvel, still most exciting guitar player out there. Hard to miss him if he is in town especially with Roth at the mic with the classic material.

transferred from cassette tape to cd by me
Quality: tape warbles at the beginning, a bit uneven and hissy, maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10.
Also at the end of this tape was a little bit of a Cozy Powell Whitesnake gig. That is not on here.

I was at this gig and bought a cassette tape of the show sometime later in the Portabello Road Flea Market. This gig was 31 years ago and some of my memory doesn't match the tape. Could be me or who knows. Things like I always thought he played two nights at the Lyceum and not one. I thought the back up singer was Laura Teresa who sang back up on some Magazine bits and on Jerky Versions. Also I totally forgot the opening band was the Smiths and SPK. I know you can find a few Magazine shows but solo Hoard shows I think are not around if at all. I could be wrong though I am a complete beginner at Audacity so don't rake me over the coals. I may attempt a remaster of this show as it's Howard.

Gary was a well-known figure in the Glasgow music scene, after working in A1 Sounds / Fopp and Avalanche Records for over 20 years. He also promoted a few shows in the mid 80s. When minidisc technology emerged, he immediately set himself up for recording and began chronicling all the gigs he attended. This is a record of all the existing MD’s I found in his massive music collection, which his brother asked me to transfer on to hard drive. Gary passed away suddenly from natural causes in Sept 2006, ironically just after he purchased his first HD recorder and only got to record 2 shows with (Green On Red at King Tut’s being the last one). Big thanks to jamroom for taking over this project and the many dimebots who have helped him in this massive endeavour. This MD Project is a tribute to his passion for live music and supporting local and small touring bands.

Even if Sky Saxon is the only original band member here the band is amazingly close to the roots. And the then new songs fit very well to the old material. Ok, Sky Saxon has certainly seen better days and he continues to thank Scotland throughout the set (and he mentions that Try To Understand is from the second album but it's from the first) but he is very talkative and all in all it's a very enjoyable show. It is a pity that Jan Savage who had started the European tour with the band had to leave early during the first gigs in Spain but his replacement on guitar (whoever it was as I can't make out the names of the band members announced by Sky) is doing a great job. This all is very well received by the audience which is partially going crazy during the set. Needless to say it's very sad that Sky has left us some years later (in 2009). Photograph of minidisc included.

This was a quickly arranged tour.

A near capacity Retford audience showing some reverance to Mr.Nelson, so little or no talking when songs are being played. Bill makes reference to the disco which was on the floor below. The recording turned out very well considering the equipment of the time.

Notes from original uploader:
This cassette transfer is the best sounding copy I found of this show so far. Surely the quality varies slightly throughout the recording, but it's still very good. All the copies I had kept of this show were also sounding good, but a bit thin and metallic. The band gives everything they got, but Jon's voice is shot to pieces and he just sounds awful on most of the songs. Richie and Dave try to back him up as much as they could by delivering powerful backing vocals. Near the end of the show Jon invites Paul Stanley, Bruce Dickinson and Dee Snider to join them onstage and they jam the songs "Travellin' Band" and "We're An American Band" together. Originally also Metallica was invited, but refused to take part as Bon Jovi flew with a helicopter over the festival site during their gig.

Some time ago, my good friend Don told me he had recorded a Santana show at the Fillmore East in 1970. I found a show in circulation from 4/12/70, and did not think of it much more until he found his tape gave me a copy of the transfer.
He also gave me a copy of the program, which indicated Santana played the Fillmore on three nights: April 10, 11, and 12.

I gave a copy to Herman LR and we both agreed this was a different show. Don said he was almost certain he was at the Saturday
show, which would make the date of this one 4/11/70, never in circulation. There may have been two shows per night, and if so, this was the early one.

I want to dedicate this show to Herman, in appreciation for the wealth of Santana recordings he has shared with us here.

Bombiggity deserves credit for the bulk of the work to enable this recording to see the light of day, and in remarkably good form, given the age and circumstances of the recording. He arranged for a fresh, technically proper transfer by Popskull, consulted with Goody on the pitch, arranged for a correction with Flambay, and did the remaining remastering of the recording.

The sound mix starts out bass-heavy, but improves with the second track, and for the most part, gets better as it goes along. It's rough, still has some glitches, but overall is very decent. Samples are provided in the comment section.

The show was opened by The American Dream and It's A Beautiful Day. Don recorded those, and hopefully we will have those to share as well.

Original Notes:
This is a very nice audio recording; got this directly from the taper several years ago. The taper is a well-known but reclusive hardcore Who taper who followed them around the world during the mid-1970s through 1982; he had phenomenal equipment for the era (sorry, don't know what it was) and was known for pristine audio recordings. This one is no exception.

This date was sandwiched in between the notorious Cincinnati and the well-documented Chicago dates, so collectors who have either date can attest that they were in good form at this point of the tour. It's one of my favorites.

Additional Notes:
This is an excellent recording for any venue, let alone the Pontiac Silverdome. Roger even says They will return when the Joe is finished because the sound sucks at the Silverdome.

This was the first show after the tragedy in Cincinnati where 11 people were killed when the doors were opened for the general admission show. The band is still feeling the effects and plead with the crowd several times to take it easy. Roger says, "If anything happens we will never be able to look at our faces in the mirror." I was there but don't remember that LOL.

Havent really been listening to Foo Fighters since the first two records in the 90s but thought Id go and see this show - their biggest in Sweden yet! (55,000 people!)

Little did we all know we were gonna witness something VERY spectacular that either the band or us in the crowd will ever forget!

You could tell Dave was VERY excited to do this show, in front of 55,000 people in little Sweden (Cmon - its not New York with 8 zillion residents!). A lot of screaming and a lot of moving around and headbanging in the first song. After singing the first verse of ÓMonkey WrenchÓ Dave decided to move to the front of the stage, stage right, but tripped and fell like 10 feet down in front of the fence. Actually it looked like he hit the fence and bounced to the ground. I didnt see what happened myself since I was taking a few photos, but found out afterwards that I actually took a photo just as Dave hit the fence (look in the torrent to see pictures).

Show stopped and there was a lot of confusion Dave than told the audience that he thought his leg was broken and that they would come back. He didnt say when. After a few minutes the rest of the band came out and said theyd do a few cover songs and not just leave. After two songs it seemed Dave would come back, and he did - on a stretcher and then he was put on a chair, having a Swedish doctor holding his foot since he wasnt allowed to move it. They sat like that for a couple of songs, then the cast arrived from the hospital and Dave disappeared again for a while to have the cast put on his leg.

After that he sat on the chair for the rest of the show, without a doctor (except for the two acoustic songs performed at the very front of the extended catwalk) when he was standing
with help of crutches.

Dave sang ÓThese daysÓ with different lyrics (about his broken leg) which was fun and the show lasted for just over 2 hours and 40 minutes

Wasnt too sure if I would share this show - but since it hasnt surfaced yet from another source - HERE IT IS!!! If some A**HOLE decides to to a silver bootleg from this - be sure to send me a few copies for free, its the least you could do!

Confirmed lossless with TLH

This is a first gen copy of the master tape which I acquired recently and which I think is an upgrade in terms of sound quality to the more commonly circulated "Beset By Creatures Of The Deep" bootleg which sounds like it comes from a higher gen tape. A fairly early performance and an interesting set. The "Beset By Creatures Of The Deep" sounds like a reprise of "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" (and "Green Is The Colour" almost always segued into that track when played live) but I have no idea why they decided to play it twice at this particular performance.
