Comments:
This is the BEST bootleg/release/source of the 2nd Fort Worth show of 1972.....apart from the couple of tracks that's a part of the "Ladies & Gentlemen"-soundtrack.
The VGP release "Fort Worth Express" is taken from the same source of this SBD tape as this C2C release.....but from a HIGHER generation.....or something
- because it sounds much worse !
Halcyon (a sub-label of Empress Valley) has released some excellent bootlegs....but even their release of this SBD tape ("Return Of The Exiles") is NOT as good as the C2C release (IMO)....at all - allthough better than VGP
The legend Dieter Hoffman once wrote (about this SBD tape):
"listen to the piano on the beginning of "Gimme Shelter" and you know that this one is....A MUST!!!"
.....and how correct he were!
Artwork included....scanned today (the ones I found on the web were in useless resolution)
BY THE WAY:
The "Happy" on the VGP release ("Fort Worth Express") is taken from the 1st show in Fort Worth....not the 2nd show. ("All Down The Line" is not either a part of this soundboard tape)
Please UP! Eric Clapton MVR!
