POTWDVD015
Pink Floyd 1994-10-20 PPV

Source:
Second generation VHS from 1994-11-01 Pay Per View broadcast. Source tape audio is in mono. Audio dubbed from a stereo roio from the same broadcast. The differences between the PPV version and the official are the camera angles. Also, High Hopes had its solo overdubbed from another show because if you have the PPV on video, Dave hit different notes than the released version. Also, he thanked Roger in a lower tone on the PPV as opposed to the official video. Lastly, Comfortably Numb was edited from 13 minutes from the PPV to over 10 minutes on the released version. Also, that bit of post-production trickery involving the word "Enigma" from the PPV being somewhat disguised on the PULSE release

Notes by the taper:
I wouldn't have gone to this concert but for the fact that two of my sons have recently become obsessed with the Stones. I personally haven't been much of a fan since Mick Taylor left. I was fortunate to attend a 1972 concert at MSG, but the magic was gone for me after seeing them one last time in 1975. Ticket prices, of course, have increased "slightly" since then, and I was faced with the dilemma of buying four tickets - my oldest son would have to come too. Fortunately, my wife is not a fan. My original plan was to buy the least expensive seats and be happy to be in the building. Then my taper mindset kicked in - there was no way I was recording this show from lousy seats. My entire recording career was undoubtedly influenced by the great audience recordings that I devoured from the '69 and '72 tours, so it was only fitting that I try to produce my own. I decided to bite the bullet and offered to buy floor seats for all of us IF my sons would accept the ticket as their upcoming birthday gifts - triple what I would ordinarily spend on them. My youngest son took the deal but my older boys decided to gamble on the $85 lottery. When tickets went on sale, I was able to secure 2 seats in Section 1 and my other sons were fortunate to nab a pair of the $85's (and yes, I still have to buy them birthday gifts!) As the date drew nearer, I found myself feeding off their excitement as we counted down the days. I followed the tour closely on the IORR site and found myself getting excited on my own. After all, I too had been an obsessive fan back in the 60's and early 70's. I also kept a close eye on Ticketmaster, and sure enough, better seats popped up in my section. I called for an exchange and was surprised when the agent cheerfully moved us up 11 rows.

The evening was close to perfect. We beat the traffic and some nasty thunderstorms, found a good parking place, and had a nice dinner at The Green Turtle. My sons picked up their $85 tickets and were disappointed to learn they had last row in the far corner. We had discussed some self-upgrading strategies beforehand and - talented boys that they are - they stealthed their way close to the stage in Section 112 Row C for the entire concert. This was a dream come true for them, as it was for my youngest son in the 12th row with me. I could complain about some of the song choices or the limited use of Mick Taylor (perhaps one day we'll understand the reason) but what's the point?. It was the Stones' party and we were thrilled to be there. The concert was one long celebration. The recording location was perfect. The sound was excellent and our neighbors were quieter than I could have hoped for. I'm very pleased with the results and I hope you are too.

Well, this could easily be an official recording, the info file says audience sourced but the sound is simply amazing. I really liked Satriani's and Vai's set although i'm not very familiar with their material. Petrucci played a few tracks that were released 4 years later which was a surprise to me (also, Paradigm Shift is just perfect :D)

Not too much 60´s White Blues roots here, recently......

So here´s my favorite tape from the John Mayall´s Bluesbreakers:
A very unusual performance with some incredible playing by the boys,
not the usual live stuff, but great!

This is the best sounding audience recording of John Mayall´s Bluesbreakers from the 60´s I heard yet!

(overall a more well balanced sound than on the Windsor Fest. 67 tape)

Note that the last three tracks of disc two (which comprise the encore in full) are not from the master soundboard source. They are in mono, but from a direct source nonetheless. It's likely they originate from an in-house video soundtrack, though I can't confirm this.

With the above caveat out of the way, it's an absolute pleasure to present another blistering show from the 2000 tour in pristine quality. What separates this recording from many others is that it hasn't been widely circulated. I'm pleased to present, for quite likely the first time in public domain, this wonderful show...and what better venue for its release than a site sanctioned by Pete Townshend himself. Those who have heard this show already know what a treat it is; those who will be hearing it for the first time will no doubt enjoy it time and time again. It's simply another rare gem that is finally, and rightfully, seeing the light of day. As always, enjoy!!!

notes
A perfect soundboard recording from the Eagles 1994 Hell Freezes Over tour. I believe this to be a soundobard instead of an FM broadcast because as far as I know they never did any FM broadcasts from this tour other than the MTV special. One of the more popular recordings from their 1994 tour, I haven't seen this on DIME yet so I thought I'd share it. Couple of things to note: first, on disc 1 the last track has both "Lyin' Eyes" and "One Of These Nights" on it. No idea why these were not plit up, but this is how I got it. These are original silver CD's BTW, NOT CD-R's. Second, you may be able to fit these onto 2 discs - again this is how I got it, on 3 discs and so I've never changed it. Third, there is artwork out there. I can't upload it but this is a very popular CD so I'm sure a little searching on the internet and you can find something. This was the set list through-out most of the 1994 and 1995 tour. Not too bad - my only complaint was that they played too many of their solo hits during the second act. I mean, we were there to see the Eagles! They had so many songs - "James Dean", "The Last Resort", "Ol' 55", "Saturday Night", the list goes on and on. Otherwise, this is a fantastic recording, it basically speaks for itself, so please rate and ENJOY!!

13. I'm A Boy
14. Substitute
15. My Generation

Notes:
One of the best and most bootlegged Who shows from this era. It documents their transition from a "pop" band into hard rock jamming. Shakin' All Over is a very long jam that showcases PT's lead guitar styles and how well JAE is in tune to Pete's playing. Relax is another worthy psychedelic guitar jam. There are various versions of this show around that claim to be from different dates and slightly different set lists that at times omit Summertime Blues and / or the mini opera (A Quick One) and / or My Generation. Some claim to be from April 5, 1968, some from April 6, 1968 (taken from thewho.net).
