Notes by the taper
an amazing show last night in albany. the one and only al kooper joined by jimmy vivino in a great tribute to the late mike bloomfield. over 2 hours of fine blues in a 500 seat venue. the band was into it and so was the crowd. they did a nice selection of bloomfield related material and vivino was quite good in bloomfield's role. if this show comes to your area i highly recommend checking it out. as you can see on the track list, the second track is a prerecorded intro by bloomfield as taken from the official lost concerts cd from the fillmore east. as it's just a minute and a half of just talking and is an audience recording, the mods gave me the ok to include it which i am grateful for.

  1. Excellent sound and the perfect tribute to the great old days of 'Supersession' and 'Live Adventures'. Jimmy Vivino really making the spirit of Mike Bloomfield come alive once again.
