Comments:
Very energetic performance. Very good, consistent mix throughout - vocals "just right".
Better drum sound than other performances from the same leg and the compression is turned way down
compared to the other releases, allowing the sound to be clear, without any "dullness".
** Best overall release of the series for performance/mix/mastering.

Recorded from Sirius Sat Radio Broadcast with Sony MZ-R70 MD Recorder. Commercial free broadcast, with no DJ interuption.

The show in Cagliari came after a pause in Iggy Pop's mini-tour: a much appreciated holiday in one of the best resorts of the world, close to some of the most beautiful beaches in this planet: but don't expect Iggy and his band to be relaxed or in a slow-pace, low-tension mood. You can tell from the title that a moderate suntan and some good Sardinian meals weren't enough to soften the man's attitudes, and in fact these are 74 minutes of pure outrageous energy: having no new CD to promote, the Iguana is free to browse through his repertoire from last year's "Beat 'em Up" up to the early Stooges hits: the audience, though barely audible here made their part in building up a terrific show.

NB - You will hear 4-5 'cracks' scattered around the show: they are NOT 'clicks' or digi-noise, but came directly from the SB and are probably due to the plugging/unplugging of some equipment.

Here is the 17th row center recording. Not crazy at all with the sound as its simply too close. The bass takes up too much head room hence the dynamic range suffers. But I will say there could have been a whole lot worst to sit. But a tad of EQ on your end and it should be ready to blast loud on your best stereo system. Enjoy!

Notes by the taper:
* I was taken by surprise when Bruce appeared 1,5 hours before the show. I didn't have my recorder and microphones ready so that's why the first song is missing quite a lot and the quality is not the best.

According to brucespringsteen.net: "...was a thrilling 4 hours and 6 minutes of pure rock — Bruce’s longest recorded show time ever." And that does not count the acoustic pre-show set!

Black Sabbath puts on an energetic and lively show in West Palm Beach. Ozzy comments about the heat, remarking about "sweaty nuts." Lots of audience engagement, and all the tracks are strong. I thought Ozzy sounded great, given that he is no longer 25. Iommi and Butler killing it all the way through.

Notes:
This is an audience recording from the 31 Jul 2016 show in Zurich, Switzerland. The official live downloads have made audience recordings obsolete, but I decided to record a few shows on this tour just for the fun of it. See my recordings of Milan 1, Paris 1, and Paris 2.

The Swiss crowd is the very opposite of what you would see in Milan or Gothenburg, so I went to this show with very low expectations. I also expected it to be a greatest hits type of show, but Bruce managed to surprise me big time. Not only did he spice things up with some very obscure but (to me) very welcome rarities, but he also delivered such a strong performance that he was able to break the ice-cold Swiss crowd as the show went on until virtually everybody in the stadium (as far as I could see) was jumping and screaming during the encores. That's absolute power.

Thanks Javier for lending me the mics. I clipped them to my sunglasses over my head. The recording quality turned out to be good overall. The sound is a bit boomy. The bass was crazy high during "Born In The U.S.A.", so high that the screens became blurry, so about 50 seconds into the song I lowered the input level from 30 to 26 or 25 and then turned it back up to 30 during the next song. There's some minimal crowd noise around me and some occasional close chatter, screaming, and clapping, but overall I was in a relatively quiet spot somewhere at the back of the pit.

This recording fits on three audio CDs. I recommend to split the discs between "Jole Blon" and "Atlantic City" and between "Badlands" and "Jungleland".

This an amazing document of the Rainbow Bridge Concert, made by Mike Parker, with almost all of the available concert footage plus some great filler footage, all synched to the soundboard audio. A true piece of art!

Sourcing info, to give credit where credit is due:
I made this. It is the 25 minutes of Rainbow Bridge Jimi Hendrix footage, 20 minutes of outtakes, and the Strange Day On Maui footage (about 10 minutes), all re-synced to the songboard audio. The songs are full-length, although the film footage is not. The gaps are filled in with Maui footage, 60`s stuff, surfing footage, and Strange Day On Maui footage.

The audio is the overdubbed-drums source, the only one available, so the drums are out of sync a bit. It's hardly noticeable though. Hope you all enjoy it.

Mike Parker
About this project: Originally all I was going to do was sync the 20 minutes of silent outtake footage (end of Hear My Train>Voodoo Child>beginning of Ezy Ryder). But after that was done, I thought, well, why not continue with the movie footage too? The audio on RB was pretty poor. Then there was the Strange Day On Maui footage to deal with. Univibes magazine had an issue about silent Jimi footage that gave me a good reference guide to what was being played during all that double-image footage, so that was a huge help. Ezy Ryder & Message To Love footage was just too dark or had too much double imaging to be able to really sync it up. There's enough there to get an idea of that's going on though.

I wanted to keep the songs full-length, so began to think about what to use for filling in the gaps. There was some nice footage in RB of the people walking to the concert, some skinny-dippers, volcano footage, and film of Jimi's girlfriend Pat Hartley wandering around Maui. Plus lots of great surfing footage. Love that surfboard-cam shot!

So I used all the RB footage I could, then went looking for footage at a video store. Hawaiian Paradise was a cheesy travelog video, has some nice volcano footage with beautiful sunrises, and that great 1940's Maui footage. Endless Summer has one chapter on Maui, that footage is from 1964. check out that spill where the cameraman gets bonked in the head (& the surfing babes). Easy Rider, well that's all the actual motorcycle riding footage from the movie. The 60's protest/Vietnam footage fit perfectly in the large gap during Hear My Train A'Coming. I also used all the non-Jimi footage from Strange Day On Maui as a tribute to Duff Hendrickson, who filmed the actual footage.

this project was made on an eMac, using Final Cut Express. My very first video project. I think it turned out well. By the way I am a long-time Jimi Hendrix collector, if anone out there has any unreleases/uncirculated film footage, recordings, or photos gathering dust, I would love to hear from you. Doesn't matter if the audio is poor or if the film/photos are grainy, it's all worth checking out.
Any Jimi is good Jimi. Same goes for John Coltrane audio, ect. You can contact me at jimiclones (at) yahoo (dot) com.

I had this cd stored somwhere in my closets and I actually never listened to it. I received this a few years ago from a new yorker friend. The title on the cd looked intriguing: " Ayers holland 1971 with Wyatt & Oldfield". A few listens and a few googles later I could track the exact date & venue as well as the tracklist. Sound quality is perfect, probably a pristine 9/10. And Ayers is in great shape as well as the whole band. Wyatt joined the band for a mere 6 months period only. Enjoy this lost gem!

Notes:
This is a first generation copy of the master 5" diameter reels that came from the TMoQ collection. I used the Phase Linear 1000 auto-correlator (mild noise reduction and dynamic expansion) during transfer to DAT. Copied to DAT during times of financial distress (student) and recorded at the Long Play speed. Creative Converter changed the sampled rate to 44.1KHz. Not the best sounding recordings, but very decent and these are from my first generation reels. For historical reference only and not intended for resale or any commercial use.

Notes:
Acquired master tape from the JEMS archives. Here is a nice sounding recording with an odd mix though since it favors the drums(especially the bass drum) of the Cats who were finally getting their due here stateside in 82 after building an audience over in England for 2 years prior. These guys pretty much single handedly revived the whole rockabilly and the neo/pyscho-billy music scenes that would follow later on. If you like stuff like Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran then you will love these guys.
