Their first live show in thirteen years, played to an enthusiastic crowd at New York's finest venue. Bowery Ballroom only holds about 550 people, so the tickets sold out almost immediately, disappointing countless fans. The recording came out pretty well, despite the fact that I repeatedly had to dodge security who were watching for people using flash cameras. The sound was a little bass-heavy in the venue, but generally good, as it usually is at Bowery Ballroom. Rick McCollum seemed a bit rusty at several points during the show, but the rest of them sounded great. I'm sure they will strengthen as they make their way through Europe. Hard core fans will enjoy track 9, where Dulli mixes it up with some jerk in the crowd. Somehow he doesn't seem as menacing at age 47 as he did twenty years ago. Anyway, it's great to have them back!

Shameless plea to all of you -- Perhaps the best show i've ever seen out of well over 500 concerts was the Twilight Singers show at Irving Plaza on October 16, 2004. I don't think they took the stage before midnight and didn't leave until about 2:30 or so. I know at least two different people taped the show and no amount of cash or trades were enough to get either of them to produce a copy for anyone. Can anyone help? Has anyone ever seen that show circulate anywhere? Thanks.
