This concert was recorded and broadcast by KLOL-FM in Houston (aka K101), an AOR format, former freeform-FM station that flipped to Spanish language programming in 2004.
This performance on 11/6/1976 preceded the release of their Hotel California album (released 12/8/1976). This set featured 2 new songs from that album and many earlier Eagles hits, along with Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way and 3 James Gang songs (Turn to Stone, Funk #49 & Walk Away). Joe Walsh had joined the Eagles the year before, after founding member Bernie Leadon left.
This concert happened on Glenn Frey's birthday.
TheCommish notes:
Here's a vintage recording of The Eagles that I stumbled upon at archive.org recently. Although no lineage for the FLAC files was provided, I ran a frequency analysis (included) via Cool Edit Pro and the files appear to be lossless. So I'm guessing the source files are from an FM broadcast on KLOL-FM (K101) in Houston. Or it may be a pre-FM recording since no radio station IDs are present. In any event, the sound quality is OUTSTANDING.
Muchas gracias, apreciado amigo. Saludos.
