Fantastic recording from Pinkpop Festival 2001 with Radiohead headlining. I had received this one straight from the guy who recorded t from the radio, then transferred to CD and sent it to me. Unfortunately some of the cd´s from my collection are deteriorating, especially when ripping the last tracks. That is why now it becomes urgent to transfer all of them to HD before the are all messed up. Only one track (15) is disturbed, luckily.
Luckily there was somebody who told us that cd was the safest and most enduring support you could get...
The cd is not scratched at all but I tried different rip softwares and did not work. Anyone with good suggestions on how to clean the disc or ripping it differently are more than welcome. Also, if somebody has a clean version of Street Spirit, I can create a new version of this torrent.
RE: CD problems?
RispondiEliminaFunnily enough I've had similar problems with cd's not being read properly or not playing properly, when there was no clear reason for the discs to skip (no scratches or scuffs). It turned out to be the laser head in the cd player/burner that was faulty and near the end of it's life-cycle. Sometimes cleaning the laser head/lens can help get a few more months out of it, but they do have a life expectancy (it's built in obsolescence! That's Consumer Capitalism for you). Try the disc[s] in question on a friends cd player or cd reader/burner. When this has happened to me, at first it was just the odd disc that didcn't play properly, then as time went on other discs started to seem faulty... Took me a while to figure it was a hardware problem (Cd player/burner) and Not a disc problem or software problem.
Hope this helps.
PS great blog!
